Oak and Wildflower is my business and life's passion, dedicated to supporting and empowering others to connect more deeply with nature to improve their mental and physical wellbeing. I call this, "wild wellness". I teach others what the earth provides, such as food and medicine and how we can live well in harmony with it, and learn from it. I do this through workshops, foraging and wellness walks and Wild Women's Circles. I have a focus on herbal medicine and wild food knowledge, but also mindfulness and the healing powers of the universe and within ourselves. I have been learning the ways of western herbalism for around 6 years. I am continuing my studies through The Plant Medicine School Scotland's Apprenticeship in Community Herbal Medicine, and have previously taken courses with The Herbal Academy and Grass Roots Remedies, along with countless workshops. I am a current teacher member of the Association of Foragers, an international, professional foragers association. I am attuned to Reiki Level II (Energy Healing) and I'm currently completing my case studies to include Reiki therapy as part of my business, with hopes of opening my own practice in the second half of 2024. I have years of experience working in community organisations assisting vulnerable youths and adults experiencing homelessness, mental health and addictions issues, and physical and mental disabilities - I still work part-time in this field. I am a Trauma-Skilled trained, Walk-leader trained, certified in Emergency First Aid and Mental Health First Aid, ASIST Suicide Prevention certified, and hold an Honours Diploma in Social Service Work from Canada. My passion has, and always will be, helping others to live their most fulfilling, joyful life, no matter their circumstances.
