“There are no words to describe what an incredible dog trainer Christina is. I honestly believe she’s a doggy fairy god mother in human form.
My Cyprus shelter pup (Brendan) arrived and it was so much harder than I was prepared for. I learnt that when you read all the books it sounds so specific but when the dog arrives it feels like the vaguest information.
Someone had recommended Christina and I reached out, from the first moment we interacted she made me feel supported, seen, affirmed what I was feeling and explained what’s going on in Brendan’s doggie world in a way I completely understood it and it made so much sense, this all continued the entire time we worked together.
Christina has an incredible inside knowledge on dogs and is so wonderfully able to break down and explain exactly what they are experiencing in a way that is not just understood but truly and deeply embodied.

“We got in touch with Christina to work on a few things with our rescue dog, who had been mistreated in her previous life and has some trauma as a result. Having expert guidance has been a game changer for us; it has improved our girl’s experience of the world and helped us to bond as a family. Christina is a compassionate, knowledgeable and highly skilled trainer, who is committed to getting to the source of a dog’s behaviour and understanding underlying motivations. We were particularly impressed by the way in which she adapted our training plan based on feedback from our dog’s behaviour and gave us a solid framework to help our girl know what to expect in unfamiliar situations. One of the main things we were seeking help with was our dog’s fear of unfamiliar humans and Christina devised a programme of counterconditioning and worked with us to build her confidence. Thanks to Christina our girl now has perfect recall and is a pleasure to walk both on and off lead. We were sent a detailed summary after each training session and videos of how to implement the training. We also had a WhatsApp group where we could ask any questions between sessions. Lovely Moira has had a difficult past, but she has finally landed herself a five-star home where she feels happy and settled 🫶 We’re now working on helping her feel more confident in situations that she finds hard due to her past trauma, and also tweaking her recall to make it more reliable when those pesky squirrels tease her 🤭🤎

How cute is Margot? 🤍🧡🤍

Little Margot is a Romanian rescue and her new owners got in touch some time ago for some triage help to get her settled in when she first arrived. Many months later, with her supportive humans by her side, Margot has blossomed into a happy and confident little lady 🥹

We’re now layering on some further training skills and working through some wee challenges Margot has been having.

Lovely first session with teenage Yorkie Rannoch who has been having some big feelings towards other dogs when out and about 🤭

He’s one clever and driven boy with a very dedicated owner ❤️ We have tweaked some handling techniques and will introduce a number of training skills over the coming weeks to help Rannoch handle being around other dogs more easily 🙌

Feelin’ beachy 😎 There are worse backdrops for a training session!

George helped me assess lovely Finlay the Lurcher’s feelings towards other dogs today. Sometimes behaviour displays can look quite different to the underlying emotions and motivations - and despite his big voice and movements, Finlay actually really just wanted to make friends and didn’t know how to enter into an interaction appropriately 🥹🫶

Stunning Poppy’s third session 🥰 Poppy’s owner got in touch for help with teaching Poppy to be reliable off the lead - she is a super speedy, driven little spaniel, and a teenager to boot 🤭

However, it turns out that Poppy’s owner has actually done a brilliant job raising her, and has nurtured a very sensitive and observant dog who responds to her every move - and whilst this is actually exactly what we love, it can also mean that if the handler is hesitant or inadvertently ‘pushing’ into the dog’s space when they are wanting them to come back, it can result in the dog creating more space (think spatial pressure) or hesitating to return.

So, whilst we are still teaching Poppy a whistle recall to have a more distinct, easily audible recall cue up our sleeves, we are primarily fine-tuning her owner’s handling techniques and body language, and building trust and confidence in the fact that Poppy will indeed respond when asked ❤️

Would you look at this? 🥹🥰 Just Brendan, the Cypriot rescue pup, grabbing a coffee-to-go with his human ☕️

From being scared of even going for a tiny quiet walk to dipping his toes into busy city centre life - what a transformation! ⭐️

Supporting rescue pups who have had limited socialisation experiences is a challenging journey, and Team Brendan have embraced it with all of its ups and downs 👏

Our awesome Team Red dipped their toes into public access test practice today and smashed it ✨

The public access test is a way to measure assistance dogs against a widely accepted standard - it looks at the team’s overall demeanour and confidence, the dog’s training skills, and how the team navigates the general public. Assistance dogs are absolutely not robots and we do not expect them to be, but we do ensure that they are able to feel confident, behave politely and remain as inconspicuous as possible when working in public spaces 🙌

Team Red also got to start on trolley training today 🛒 So much fun!
