Our classes are rooted in the classic Hatha yoga style
Hatha yoga is an authentic and gentle form of yoga. We focus on strength, flexibility and breath, connecting mind and body. I have also studied Meditation, Yin & Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra so offer a range of different classes, incorporating all of these teachings. You can experience The Yoga Social classes 5 ways:
1.Great quality classes are offered weekly via Zoom, class sizes are still small to enable me to offer feedback, adapt and keep our sense of community.
2. In-Studio classes at The Space Upstairs in Burntisland
3. Group Yurt Classes in Charlestown.
4. Saturday Outdoor Classes in Charlestown

I've practiced Yoga for over 20 years and found it hugely beneficial, it is a precious time for you to focus on yourself, give you a sense of balance and peace and find some space. Get in touch and we will find the right class for you.

Good news Monday! Saturday 13th of September 2025. What a day that was! Sun, Rain, inside, outside, shaking it all about, Yoga Nidra under tables, belting out a song together in my kitchen. It was a blast! And we raised £926 for SAMH in the process! WHOOP!

I always like to make a tasty vegan & gluten free treat for my nidraists. It's important to ground ourselves after a Yoga Nidra, be that gentle tapping, a warm drink or a tasty treat. Something to firmly bring us back to annamaya kosha our physical layer.

When we work with the energy of Yoga Nidra we have the potential to access the deeper layers of ourselves in yoga we refer to these as our Koshas or "sheaths".

Yoga Nidra takes us through our annamaya (body) pranamaya (energy) , manomaya (mind), vijnamaya (wisdom) & anandamaya (bliss) layers.

The beauty is that everyone's experience is different as we are all unique and forever changing, something we will continue to explore through our classes this month. ✨🌿💖

Slightly obsessed with Thistledown at the moment... Look how beautiful it is! It featured in our Yoga Nidra this evening where 16 beautiful souls gathered at the museum for our transition Nidra - honoring our unique journeys of change as we navigate the move through late summer towards the autumn equinox. I love the transformation of this spikey colourful character into something so gentle & soft that can be blown away on the wind. I collected some in a jar and everyone took one away with them as a reminder of their journey. We finished with this beautiful poem by the super talented who is such an inspiration to me with her exquisite observations. Thank you Orla ⭐ And thanks to everyone that came along this evening and shared this experience with me.

Well I didn't expect this guy to become the centre of attention today!
I was grateful to be invited to lead a wellbeing session with a gorgeous bunch of humans on their team day at Lochhore Meadows (The Meedies 💖)
The weather was good so we decided to take it outside and make a circle on the grass, just by all the resting ducks. 🦆
The ducks were super chill, a few quacks, but left us to it. But this guy 🪿.....mat nibbling, soup stealing, shoe sniffing, the works! At one point he stole my envelope that had my payment in!
I'd just been talking through the nervous system and working with some grounding techniques and he pinched it and flew away!
Luckily I was feeling super chill from the grounding and was able to get it back in a calm and serene fashion! 😜🤣🤣🤣
I think there was a lesson in there somewhere!
We never know what's going to happen in life, the reality is we can't control other people's actions (including seagulls) but we can make a choice how we react, but only when we are in a place of calm & safety. When we are stressed or anxious our body just wants us to be safe so we may not react to situations in the best way. And that is understandable, we need to give ourselves a little grace for that.
But when we can release some of that stress & tension, take a pause, take a breath, we can make better decisions, take better care of ourselves and enjoy life a little more, and see a brighter side 🌿🦋⭐

Thanks Mr Seagull for that lesson today, but I respectfully request you not to do that again.

Boundaries are also important!!! 🤣😜✨🤩

The season is shifting, we are all finding our way back to something. This is a time of transition as we move through these last few weeks of Summer. Come explore this theme through the power of yoga nidra and deep rest in this beautiful space steeped in history. September Transitions. I love this pic by it captures the joy I find in the wildflower meadow that blooms next to the yurt. Any my love of a cosy jumper! So here we are in September.
The last few weeks of Summer are ahead of us as we approach the Autumn Equinox on the 22nd.
Over the next few weeks we will be leaning into this transitional energy through our yoga practise. Some of you may be well settled back into your routine after the madness of summer or maybe new adventures are ahead with kids starting Uni (my baby starts next week 🧡) or perhaps you are finding it hard to get back into a rhythm and looking for some support or inspiration or just a little headspace to workout what you need.
This is a time to move with a little grace and compassion for yourself, there is no hurry, nature has it's way of releasing what it no longer needs and so do you.

If you want a little help, drop in to one of my friendly group classes or consider booking a free discovery call to see how we could work together. My yoga therapy sessions are held in the yurt or online to support your unique needs.
