‘I’ve worked with Lauren for 3 years now. When I first started I had bad anxiety in the gym and had zero confidence. But with Lauren’s help I built my confidence and after 6 months finally felt confident coming to the gym and doing my own sessions. But this was only the start …

Over the 3 years unfortunately I have had a few serious injuries which, thanks to Lauren’s help, I have finally been able to fully recover.

Lauren helped give me exercises to do at home while I recovered from a rotator cuff injury , we done specific programme during my sessions focused on building up and rehab work and after a year I finally have full movement and strength back.

The biggest challenge the last 9 months Lauren has really helped me with focused plans and exercises prior to upcoming leg and knee surgery. There has been plenty challenges through this but she has always been supportive. Lauren has managed to help me build my leg up with limited exercises and other adaptions for exercises during my sessions. We have had to balance these around pain levels and having to do my sessions the past 2 months in a brace. I am very grateful to all Lauren has done and her ongoing support through all the challenges, sometimes I’ve felt like just giving up but she has kept me going and pushing.

I know after my surgery I will be in good hands and I am looking forward to getting back to my session and building my leg strength back up .. pretty sure Lauren already has a plan in place for this 🤣’

Gym anxiety can be a massive barrier for beginners or those trying weight lifting for the first time, but you shouldn’t let it hold you back from reaching your goals!

I focus on creating a welcoming and safe space where you’ll feel supported

✅ develop a plan tailored to your goals and comfort levels
✅ build your confidence gradually starting with less intimidating exercises and machines in areas of the gym that may be quieter
✅ teach correct technique to reduce fear of injury or embarrassment
✅ celebrate every small victory along the way!

There’s days where the last thing I want to do is train and I’m already in the gym so you’d think no excuses...

So I know there’ll be days where you finish work and can’t be arsed

But if you want to reach your goals you really have to put in the work, even when you don’t want to!

On those days you don’t want to, tell yourself you’ll go and do at least 30 minutes. Sometimes once you’re there you feel better for it and push more than you think you would

In turn it’ll help you build habits and gets to a point where it’s a non negotiable that you train/walk/go to a class at least 2-3 times a week

That’s when you’ll start to see progress 💪🏻

Want to get stronger, leaner or feel better in your body but not seeing results? Then you need to start tracking your workouts

Tracking weights, reps and sets is a simple tool to help show you progress, if you hit a plateau and help you train with purpose

My clients get a log book to track their progress and take notes on sessions to help get the results they want

*Small changes lead to big results over time*

Progressive overload is about consistent progress, rather than lifting the same weight for 8 weeks in a row try increasing the intensity.

Whether that’s adding weight, increasing reps, adding volume or changing tempo. You want to be having to push harder to get that last few reps out.

By gradually increasing demands during exercise it promotes muscle growth, strength and endurance and this is where you’ll see changes and the results you want.

So next time you’re training think about how you could increase the intensity of your exercises.
