Saturdays are our favourite 💛

We welcome so many beautiful families — especially the excited big brothers and sisters! One of our favourite moments is stepping out of the room and letting them grab a bunny and run back to Mum and Dad to reveal whether they’re having a baby brother or sister. It melts my heart every time.

And of course… there’s always a reward 🤣

💉 Let’s talk…..weight loss medication and unplanned pregnancy! 💉

Over the past few months we have seen a small increase in unplanned pregnancies when using weight loss medication (injections) and using oral contraceptive.

After some reading I’ve written a little bit of information below, hopefully this might help some of our clients currently taking weight loss injections.

The why!
Weight loss injections slow gastric emptying, which theoretically could delay or reduce the absorption of a pill taken at the same time (like any oral medication) when nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea occur.

Severe vomiting or diarrhoea are common side effects of weight loss injections. If you experience any of these symptoms within 3 hours of taking your pill this can reduce absorption, and the usual “missed pill” rules should be followed in that scenario.

Here is some Practical Guidance (General, Not Medical Advice)

If you’re on a weight loss journey and taking injections.

Most evidence suggests you don’t need extra contraceptive precautions unless you have vomiting/diarrhoea around the time you take your pill.

: Consider using condoms or switching to a non-oral method for at least 4 weeks when starting or adjusting dose.

• If you experience vomiting/diarrhoea: Follow the standard “missed pill” guidance and/or consider backup contraception.

• If avoiding pregnancy is critical: Consider using a long-acting, non-oral method for reliability, or mirena coil.

When a client tells you they’re 36+4 weeks ahead of their 4D scan and your heart sinks a little for them.

4D is a challenge at the best of times, but after 32 weeks it can be a whole different ball game. Baby is bigger, more snug, and not always keen to show their face. After all full discussion explaining all that can possibly go wrong, this happens 🤭🤦🏽‍♀️❤️

I always inform my clients prior to a 4D scan that results are 100% based on baby behaving 🤭

For clear imaging, we need a good amount of amniotic fluid around the face and as few obstructions as possible. To be honest, this rarely happens! There’s usually a hand, foot, cord, or placenta in the way — but we always do our very best to work around it and achieve the best possible images.
Personally I love when we see a little foot or hand in the way ❤️

We’ve had a few messages about our antenatal classes. Unfortunately, these are currently on hold. We had planned to run a class this month, however due to a close family bereavement, Lynn is taking some time to heal. We are sending her bigs hugs at this time.

dgbaby scan is 8 ❤️

I honestly can’t believe it. When we opened the studio, I hoped and prayed the business would work… and here we are, 8 years later, still going strong.

We work because we genuinely care and always go above and beyond. Yes, sometimes I get told I work too much (even on honeymoon 😅), but it’s hard to ignore someone who needs help, reassurance, or just a bit of emotional support.

We are not just a scan studio — we are so much more ❤️

The moment I stop, my brain goes into absolute overdrive 🙈
Notebooks appear, ideas spill out, and suddenly I’m looking at new courses and dreaming up the next thing 🤣

I’m currently on our mini moon, but if I’m honest, the business wheels are still very much turning in my head.

2026 is bringing a lot of change for me. I want to embrace it… but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t sh****ng myself. I hate change. I thrive on familiarity — I’m literally on holiday in the same place I’ve been coming to for 22 years, so that tells you everything 🤦🏽‍♀️

There are some huge but exciting changes happening within the studio. As we head towards our 8th birthday next weekend, I feel incredibly proud of what we’ve built and how far we’ve come.

We have the most amazing sonographers and reception staff at DGBaby Scan, and were slowly expanding our team— this is allowing me to offers more scans and reassure more clients.

I’m so excited about the projects we have planned this year and how they’ll enhance the studio even further, allowing us to care for our clients on a deeper level, especially as we move more into supporting the 4th trimester.

Thank you, truly, for all the love, support, and trust you continue to give us. It means more than I can ever put into words 🤍
