Anas Sarwar and Graeme Downie MP visited our practice before the last UK election. It seems that the UK government still has a good deal of work to do to solve Scotland's NHS access crisis. Holyrood isn't the only place change needs to happen.
I am not alone in thinking that without radical action on workforce, contract reform, necessary as it is, will have little impact. Underlying Scotland's dental access crisis is the most profound dental recruitment crisis I have seen in 39 years of running my practice.

The surge in Therapist is explained by overseas dentist who could register as dental therapists. This door is now closed and the only jobs unregistered dentists can get in the UK are as trainee dental nurses.
The figures for technicians are dire.
