April was all about twists 🌿

Not just doing them… but understanding them.
How to move into them safely, how to create space first, and how to make them feel good in your body — not forced.

We kept coming back to the foundations
Inhale to lengthen
Exhale to rotate

Creating space before we move into the twist.

And remembering that most of our rotation comes from the mid-back — our heart space — not just the lower back or the neck.

We explored it all…
Seated twists, standing twists, and a few slightly chaotic ones for fun 😅

But the one we kept returning to…
my personal favourite…
reclined spinal twist.

The one where everything softens.

Knees fall to one side, gaze to the other, eyes gently closed.
Palms turned up, fingers soft.

Nothing to force.
Nothing to chase.

Just breathing… and allowing the body to settle.

A reminder that twists aren’t about forcing range —
they’re about exploring it, and noticing what feels possible in your body.



Now we move into May… and we begin to play with balance.

Tree 🌳 Eagle 🦅 and a few wobbles along the way…

Not about “nailing” the pose —
but noticing what helps you feel steady.

If you’ve been coming along, you’ll start to feel how it all connects.

You might notice a familiar face in a slightly different spot over the next few weeks ✨

Susan, who some of you will already know from class, is currently completing her training with Jyoti Yoga School and has reached the stage where she’s building her confidence teaching at the front of the room.

This means you may see her up front with me during our Tuesday and Wednesday mid-morning classes at Bannatyne’s — practising mirroring, getting used to/mixed up with lefts and rights (we’ve all been there 😅), and experiencing what it feels like to guide a room.

This is something I’ve always supported — from the moment I qualified, I’ve welcomed trainee teachers into the space to observe, practise, and gently step into teaching. It’s such an important part of the journey, and a really special thing to be able to offer 💛

You’ll still be guided as normal, just with an extra friendly face at the front as Susan builds her confidence and experience.

A little Monday morning update… 🌿

This coming Monday (27th April) will be my final time teaching the 7:00–8:00am yoga class at Bannatyne’s

From the following week, I’ll be handing the class over to the lovely Ewan Logan .equilibrium

Due to a change in personal circumstances, I won’t be continuing with this class on a permanent basis — but I truly couldn’t think of a better person to pass it on to.

Ewan is a familiar face around the club, and I know many of you will already recognise him. Bannatyne’s is actually where he took his very first yoga class, which makes this feel like a bit of a full-circle moment ✨

He brings such a great energy, and I’ve no doubt he’ll have you feeling awake, warm, and ready to take on the week ahead on a Monday morning.

I’m genuinely so excited for him stepping into his first permanent class at the club — he’s going to be brilliant 💛

I’ll really miss seeing those familiar faces at 7am, but I’ll still be around on Thursday mornings at 7:30am — so hopefully between Ewan on a Monday and me on a Thursday, you’ve got the perfect early morning yoga combo.

Thank you for all the Monday mornings so far — they’ve been a special part of my week 🥰

One week to go… ✨

I honestly can’t believe how quickly this has come around.

Our very first Yoga Brunch Club is happening next Sunday and Jane and I are so excited to bring this to life for you 💛

The menu is planned.
The space is waiting.
And I’ll be bringing a feel-good flow (with just the right amount of cosy support at the end… yes, the bolsters will be making an appearance 🤍)

We are fully booked — thank you so much.
And we’ve got a lovely waitlist too, just in case any last-minute spaces become available.

If you missed this one, don’t worry — we’re hoping to release more dates over the summer, so keep your eyes peeled 👀

A little reminder for next Sunday:
• Yoga at LEM Fitness (9:00–10:00) is cancelled

From January to March, I had the privilege of teaching a weekly Monday lunchtime yoga class in a corporate setting.

What began as a request for something calm and restorative, during a time of uncertainty and transition, gently evolved into something more…
Movement, laughter, consistency, and a space people genuinely looked forward to each week.

Some came along when they could.
Others made it a non-negotiable part of their week.

And in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, that one hour became a pause.
A chance to step away, breathe, move, and switch off — even just for a little while.

Over time, I watched confidence grow.
Practices deepen.
Familiar faces soften as they arrived… and leave feeling calmer, lighter, more themselves again.

We adapted to different rooms, different spaces — whatever worked — because people wanted to be there.

And for me, that’s always the magic of it.
Meeting people where they are, especially during challenging times, and creating space for a bit of ease.

I’ll really miss those Monday sessions (and mildly terrorising the gate staff with my parking each week 😅).

If your workplace is going through a busy, stressful, or transitional period, this kind of space can make more of a difference than you might expect.

It’s something I’d love to offer more of — whether that’s a one-off session or something more regular.

It might be April… but the weather is still keeping us on our toes — sunshine one minute, rain (and even snow!) the next ❄️🌦️

The good news? The light is back, it was Easter weekend, and things are slowly starting to feel a little brighter ☀️

This month in class, we’re focusing on twists.

Think:

✨ Releasing tension through the back and spine
✨ Gently waking everything up after winter
✨ Helping you feel a bit more mobile, a bit more spacious, a bit more you again

So if you’re feeling a little stiff, sluggish or like your body needs a reset… you’ll be in very good hands.

Classes are beginner friendly, small and welcoming.

Sometimes “go with the flow” isn’t about moving gracefully from one pose to the next…

Sometimes it looks like an 8 degree church, no heating, and a last-minute room swap 🤣

This morning we really practised what we preach.

Instead of the hall, we tucked ourselves into the sanctuary — 10 mats, perfectly fitted, not an inch to spare. Blankets piled high, a little borrowed heater, and a plan that changed the moment I walked in.

More standing, more movement, more flow… just to keep everyone warm.

And honestly? It worked.

No one complained, everyone moved, everyone softened, and by the end we still had that same exhale into stillness — blankets wrapped around you, breath slowing, the room feeling just a little bit softer than when we arrived.

That’s yoga.

Not perfect conditions.
Not the plan going exactly how you expected.

But adapting.
Listening.
Working with what’s in front of you.

A huge thank you to Sonya at the church for being an absolute star this morning — giving up her heater and helping me get the space ready so we could still practice together. So appreciated 🤍

And to my Thursday morning crew — thank you for always being up for it. Even when it’s… cooler than expected 😆

Hopefully heating will be back for Saturday 🤞🏼
But just in case… layers, socks, and blankets 🧣

An energising Sunday morning of breath, movement and beautiful food.

Join Jane and I for a slow and soulful start to the day at the beautiful Studio 72 in Aberdour. We’ll begin by gently waking up the body with breathwork before flowing through a feel-good yoga practice designed to build strength, mobility and ease.

After the final stretch, the calm simply shifts to the table.

Our post-yoga brunch is a relaxed, family-style gathering where movement meets mindful indulgence. Expect nourishing homemade dishes, fresh smoothies, warm drinks and easy conversation in a welcoming space.

Come as you are. Leave refreshed, uplifted, connected and smiling.
