Mindful or mind full?// modern living has us racing through days, battling incessant demands, digitally distracted and living on autopilot. If we don’t pause, the weeks just merge into one another- a series of indistinguishable tasks, to do lists and events. When one is completed, there’ll be another few to take their place. It can seem that rest, stillness and peace have become luxuries that have to be earned once we’ve done enough.
Mindful moments support us to be fully present whatever we’re doing; fully aware of our thoughts and feelings without getting caught up in them. In doing so, we develop moment-to-moment awareness which helps us to be less reactive and gives us a chance to notice, to pause and to breathe. Being mindful won’t eliminate life’s stresses or challenges but will allow us to be more thoughtful in how we respond.
Here’s a quick guide to mindfulness:
1: take a comfortable, seated upright position. Close your eyes.
2: notice your breath, the inhales, the exhales, the pauses in between
3: dont control, just observe. If you get distracted, just come back to the sensation of the breath
