Welcome to Errigal Therapy Private Practice. My name is Amanda OโNeill and I am delighted to inform you of my new business venture. It is a very exciting yet daunting time for me as I set about trying to launch and promote this new service which I hope will prove beneficial in enhancing and maintaining peopleโs health and well-being in Co. Tyrone and surrounding counties. As waiting lists for various types of therapy continue to grow within our NHS, I trust that the services I provide will prove to be a valuable alternative to those of you who find yourself in such a frustrating dilemma. Below I will outline the therapy I provide, the various conditions and health issues I treat as well as sharing some information with you about my professional qualifications.
I am an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist with the British Association of Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapy. I use CBT to treat a wide variety of mental health problems and psychological issues. I am also a qualified Mindfulness teacher. I provide individual therapy sessions which last between 50 & 60 minutes. The length of the therapy can vary in the number of sessions required depending on the severity of the personโs problem. When using CBT we work together in the therapy sessions to help you recover and achieve your goals. Cognitive Behaviour Therapy is backed by science and helps you to understand how your thoughts and actions can affect the way you feel. It helps you to develop skills that will help you feel better and prevent relapse. After medication it is the most effective treatment for treating almost all mental health problems and has been found to improve overall quality of life. The conditions I treat are as follows: Depression, Generalised Anxiety disorder, Health Anxiety, Social Anxiety, Panic Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, Low Self-Esteem, Post-natal Depression. Peri-natal Anxiety/Depression.
You may be seeking CBT , or been recommended it by your GP. Whatever route you have taken I am committed to providing you with the highest standard of clinical care in a comfortable, private and relaxed environment.
I also provide Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction/Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy programmes. These are of 8 weeks duration. (see below info on mindfulness)
