Saturday 28th February
training coalisland
10.30am
£12 Drop in

This class will be a dynamic class based on the ashtanga vinyasa system.

The class is breath and movement coordinated, helping to create a meditative flow, bringing a sense of connectivity between breath, mind & emotion.

Each aspect of the sequence will be broken down in small bite sizes so that it can be fully absorbed and assescible for all individual body types.

There will be verbal cues and physical adjustments given to help each body discover the postures in the best way possible.

Each class will end with a guided meditation, with contemplation more accessible after the breath and movement combination 🙏

# # What is RLT Red Light Therapy

Red light therapy (RLT) is one of those “happy accident meets real science” stories.

---

# # How it was discovered ?

* **1960s – lasers & biology:** After lasers were invented, researchers started testing how different light wavelengths affect living tissue.

* **NASA experiments (1990s):** NASA was trying to grow plants in space using LEDs. They noticed something unexpected:

Astronauts’ **wounds healed faster** when exposed to red light.

* **Medical follow-ups:** This kicked off serious research into **photobiomodulation** (the fancy term), showing that red and near-infrared light can stimulate cellular activity.

* **Dermatology & sports medicine:** Doctors then applied it to skin healing, pain relief, and muscle recovery—eventually spilling into wellness and at-home devices.

So yeah, it wasn’t discovered as a beauty trend—it started as **space science**

---

# # How it works

Red and near-infrared light pe*****te the skin and are absorbed by **mitochondria** (your cells’ energy factories).

This can:

* Boost ATP (cell energy)

* Reduce inflammation

* Improve blood flow

* Support tissue repair

---

# # Pros ✅

**Skin & anti-aging**

* Stimulates collagen production

* Can reduce fine lines and wrinkles

* Improves skin tone and texture

* Helps with acne

**Pain & recovery**

* Reduces joint and muscle pain

* Helps arthritis and tendon issues

* Speeds up muscle recovery after workouts

**Healing & inflammation**

* Accelerates wound healing

* May reduce chronic inflammation

* Can help nerve regeneration in some cases

**Low risk**

* Non-invasive

* No UV (so no tanning or sunburn risk)

* Generally safe when used correctly

---

**Results take time**

* This is not a one-and-done fix

* Needs **consistent use** (weeks to months)

**Quality matters**

* Cheap devices often don’t emit strong enough wavelengths

* Many “red light” products are basically overpriced lamps

**Not magic**

* Won’t replace skincare, exercise, or medical treatment

* Results vary depending on age, health, and condition

**Potential risks if misused**

* Overuse can cause skin irritation

* Eye exposure without protection can be harmful

* Certain conditions (photosensitivity, some medications) need caution

---

Red light therapy is:

* **Science-backed**

* **Low risk**

* **Slow but legit**

Best for people who:

* Want gradual skin improvement

* Deal with chronic pain or inflammation

* Train hard and want better recovery
