A few years ago I came across a book. It was called 'Just One Thing' by Michael Mosley.
One simple idea really stayed with me. It was to sing loudly for five minutes a day. 🎶
I’ve always loved singing (mostly in the shower 😂), but now I understand why. Research shows singing can boost mood, reduce anxiety, relieve stress and even help with pain. It gives us a natural lift by increasing endocannabinoids, those feel good chemicals that our bodies produce naturally.
I grew up surrounded by music. My Father was a musician, so I learned first hand the power of music and the benefits it brings....the connection, expression, joy, belonging. Music has a way of reaching places words simply can’t. It regulates, it releases, it heals.
With a certain film dominating the cinema at the moment 🎬✨, it felt like the perfect time to share one of my “singing in the car” moments.
Sometimes we hold back on doing what we love....maybe through fear or even embarrassment. But we really should set that aside once a day.
Because life really is for living.
And it's YOUR life, its nobody elses. It’s about finding something you love and taking even the smallest opportunity to celebrate it. Just one thing a day can shift your mood in powerful ways.
