How emotions manifest in the body...
Ever had a “gut feeling”? Or a headache after a stressful day? These feelings aren’t random.
When emotions are unprocessed, they often show up as physical symptoms in our bodies:
– Anxiety = tight chest, shallow breathing
– Stress = gut issues, headaches, jaw tension
– Anger = heat, muscle stiffness
– Grief = heavy limbs, fatigue
These are called psychosomatic symptoms, when emotional stress takes on a physical form.
And if we’re always “pushing through” without processing how we feel, the body holds onto it. That’s why it’s so important to release these emotions that our bodies carry.
Here’s some ways to release emotions:
✨ Breathwork calms the nervous system and creates space to feel.
✨ Body scans & Yoga Nidra bring awareness to tension you didn’t realise was there.
✨ Somatic practices help emotions move through you, rather than staying stuck in you.
But if you want to go even deeper, to change the patterns, hypnotherapy can help. It allows you to unpick your old beliefs (where emotional memories, limiting beliefs, and stuck energy are often stored) and gently rewire how your body and mind respond to stress. Which results in a regulated nervous system. More safety, clarity, and ease, in your body and in your life.
If you’ve been doing all the right things and still feel tense or “off”… this work might be the missing piece.
I still have 2 spots available next month for 1:1 hypnotherapy sessions. DM for info or to book.
