🌞 Could a Lack of Vitamin D Be Fueling Your Stress?

When you're feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or mentally drained—your brain might not just need a break… it might need vitamin D.

🧠 This powerful nutrient supports:
✔️ Mood regulation (hello, serotonin)
✔️ Cortisol control (your stress hormone)
✔️ Better sleep (essential for brain recovery)
✔️ Lower inflammation (which rises when we’re stressed)

Most of us in the UK don’t get enough—especially in the winter. And when your brain doesn’t have the right resources, it’s more likely to tip into threat mode.

👉 Regular sunshine, good food, or a quality supplement can make a real difference.

✨ Balance your brain. Reduce the threat.

Don’t panic!!!!

I’m not done. I’m not going anywhere. But right now, l’ve got to prioritise other things!

Priority number 1 - Complete my University degrees!

Priority number 2 - Spend time with my favourite humans!

You may wonder why the priority is this order…well I’ve slaved over this Uni for 2 years…why let it slip now??

I’m also choosing to focus on those people I’m already working alongside and where I’m already part of a Community. My amazing clients and my networking groups!

I hope you have a great summer and I’ll be back on the grid and in your inbox in the Autumn with some new content and some very exciting news!!

Enjoy!!

🧠 Feeling anxious about a difficult conversation at work? Your brain is wired to see it as a threat, triggering stress and avoidance. But is it really dangerous, or is your mind just trying to protect you?

💡 Try the IAA Method to shift your mindset and handle it with confidence:

✅ Intention: Set a goal—what do you want from this conversation? Clarity? Resolution? Focus on that.

✅ Attention: Where’s your focus? Instead of worrying about what could go wrong, stay present and grounded. Breathe.

✅ Attitude: Approach it with curiosity, not fear. This isn’t a battle—it’s just a conversation.

Your brain wants to keep you safe, but sometimes it overreacts. You’ve got this! 💪

👉 Save this for later & tag a friend who needs it!

🖊 Journalling isn’t just writing… it’s regulating.

When the brain feels overwhelmed, stuck in overthinking or spiralling into threat mode, journalling creates space.
Space to process.
Space to observe.
Space to reset.

➡ This is one of the simplest tools I use to help my clients balance their brain and shift from anxiety to clarity.

✅ 5-10 minutes a day.
✅ No rules.
✅ Just your thoughts on paper.

👉 If your brain feels busy right now — start here.

Teach the brain that it's safe...

Understanding what your brain perceives can help you decide how you REALLY want your body to respond. It takes some practice, but when you master this, your talent soars!

🧠 Workplace stress isn't just in your head — it's in your body too.

When pressure hits, your brain scans for threat.

Can I handle this?

If the answer feels like no, you drop into a “threat state”: sweaty palms, racing thoughts, emotional overwhelm. Productivity nosedives. Confidence vanishes. You either freeze, fume, or flee.

But what if you could teach your brain to choose challenge instead?

One simple way to start is a daily mindfulness micro-reset:

🌿 60 seconds. Eyes closed. One breath at a time.

Notice what you’re feeling (not just thinking).

Acknowledge it without trying to change it.

Allow your breath to slow. Let your shoulders drop. Let go of the urge to "fix".

You're not "failing". You're responding exactly as your brain has been trained to.

Now you're aware of it — and awareness is where change begins.

🧭 This is what we do at The Balanced Brain: help you recognise the threat state, reduce it, and train your brain to thrive — even in pressure.

📩 DM me the word “STRESS” if this hits home and you want strategies that actually work.

Not always my most comfortable in front of the camera, but pushing aside those niggling fears is what I help my clients with, and I have to lead from the front right?

🎧 Hypnosis Snippet: Calm Before Competition

Not a single ticking watch, just calm, focused visualisation - THIS is hypnotherapy :

Alright, take a second to get settled.

Feet on the floor. Shoulders soft. Deep breath in… and out.

Now picture the game. The pitch. The sound of the ball. The feel of the ground under your boots.

You’re not here to prove anything. You’re here because you’ve put the work in. This is familiar. This is yours.

Your brain might start scanning for pressure. But let’s remind it: you’ve got what you need. This isn’t threat. This is challenge. And you rise to it.

You’re calm. You’re ready. And whatever happens—you’ve already won by showing up with purpose.

When you’re ready, open your eyes. Take that mindset with you.

🎙️ Want the full version before your next game? Drop me a message with the word “CALM” and I’ll send it over.

🧠 Mini Burnout Checklist for High Achievers

You're driven. Focused. Always pushing for more. But even high performers hit a wall - and often, they don’t see it coming.

Before that happens, check in:

✅ You’re always “on.”
Struggling to switch off, even during downtime? Constant mental rehearsal or work-related thoughts could be a red flag.

✅ Small things feel overwhelming.
Snapping at emails or feeling irritated by minor setbacks? Your nervous system might be under strain.

✅ You’re not bouncing back like usual.
That resilience you're known for? If it's taking longer to recover from stress or errors, your mental energy might be depleted.

✅ Sleep is disrupted.
Lying awake with racing thoughts? Waking up tired despite a full night? Burnout often hijacks quality rest.

✅ You’re doing more but feeling less.
Performing tasks on autopilot? Winning but not feeling it? This emotional flatness is a key burnout indicator.

✅ Joy is MIA.
If things that used to energise you now feel like a chore, your brain may be signalling fatigue.

If 3 or more of these hit home, it might be time to pause.
Burnout isn’t weakness — it’s biology. And you can recalibrate.

📩 DM me if this resonates. Let’s work on getting your performance and wellbeing back in sync.
