🌸 B L O O M 🌸

Hi insta-world! It’s been a while and there is a reason for that so here’s an update on life lately and how things have evolved over the last year or so.

In December 2022 I met myself at a crossroads, loving where I was but yearning for something more. I felt a nudge from the universe to pursue a path in my work that I’d long left untrodden. I listened. I discussed it with my people. And ultimately I decided to step a foot onto this path once more. A path that would inevitably take me away from the world of coaching, if only for a while.

Fast forward to today and I now find myself diving deeper into this new calling headlong. The opportunities are vast, enabling me to fuse passion and purpose together, utilising my background in criminology, previous career experience, and coaching expertise to be of service to those that need it.

What does this mean?

For now I am closing the doors to my coaching business and no longer taking on new clients. Nothing in life is permanent and I am someone who thrives on change and the vivaciousness of life. One day the doors may open again, but for now I am pressing a gentle pause whilst I navigate a new path in this season of my journey.

Queue a more personalised and candid corner of the internet. Will I still be positing about cyclical living, women’s wellness, mental health and all things 🩸? - quite likely! But as and when I want to, just because the feeling to do so arises.

So here we are.

We live.

We learn.

We grow.

We bloom.

I N T O T H E W I L D

This is it.

Embracing my initiation into my wild woman era.

No fighting it.

No fearing it.

Welcoming it with open arms and an open heart.

40 spins around the sun.

Blessed.

Thankful to all the beautiful souls who’ve touched my heart, our paths forever entwined, and been a part of my journey so far.

And what a journey it’s been.

Colourful. Vibrant. Dark. Delicious. Angst-ridden. Joyful. And so, so beautiful.

Wild woman, I welcome thee. Bless me with your courage, truth, authenticity, and dapple me with magic ✨

When discussing menstrual cycle awareness and hormonal health with my clients, they are always surprised to hear that one of the most easily accessible and readily available tools for helping to achieve cyclical balance is…

NUTRITION.

What we eat and drink has the power to heal, balance and help us glow from the inside.

It also has the power to hinder us and wreak havoc with all aspects of our health.

It impacts us physically.

Mentally.

Hormonally.

Emotionally.

It can alleviate or exacerbate adverse cyclical symptoms depending on what our diet looks like.

So what helps to harmonise?

šŸ“fresh fruits
šŸ«‘a rainbow of veggies
šŸ—organic meat and animal produce
šŸ§„garlic (nature’s antibiotic)
🫚an array of herbs and spices
🌰nuts and seeds
šŸ’¦water, water, water
šŸ«and a helping of indulgence in moderation

What to reduce/avoid?

Anything refined or ultra processed. This is the stuff that helps to top the hormonal balance in all the wrong directions.

Think packaged foods, white breads, super fancy coffees, high sugar snacks, pastries, cakes, refined pasta and rice, sugary cocktails etc etc.

This ultra processed food also causes chaos with blood sugar levels, so cravings will hit us hard and fast.

What cyclical symptoms are you suffering from?

It’s worth assessing what your current diet is like and seeing whether any tweaks can be made to help šŸ’›

There is power in the pause.

It allows for time and space. For mind and body.

This rest is absolutely necessary in order to maintain healthy stress management and nervous system regulation.

Earlier this year I made the decision to press pause and go ALL IN on my healing journey. In order to help and hold space for others I first needed to relearn how to help and hold myself with the same importance.

I’m talking root cause healing for a full body and mind approach.

Throughout this journey I have learnt a newfound compassion for myself, patience when times have felt tough, stubbornness and determination that I am proud of in order to stay on track with my healing goals.

By focusing on root cause healing via detoxification I am learning what it finally feels like to thrive instead of merely surviving in a state of physical, emotional, hormonal chaos. Shout out to and for guiding me so expertly ✨

What a journey it’s been and continues to be.

So now I invite you to take stock of where you’re at.

Q. When was the last time you pressed pause and retreated for some inner nourishment?

If the answer is that you can’t remember, chances are you are long overdue some much needed rest.

Your mind and body will thank you for it šŸ’›

P E R I M E N O P A U S E

It’s never too early to start educating yourself on the menopause. Perimenopausal symptoms can start to present in women as young as 35 years old (and in some cases younger).

Here are 5 key areas of focus that may prove powerful in symptom management as you approach this phase of life:-

šŸ N U T R I T I O N - food is one of the most readily available tools at our disposal when addressing any health issue, inc perimenopause. Avoiding/limiting trigger & inflammatory foods such as refined carbs, sugar, caffeine & alcohol can make a big difference.

šŸ§˜šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø M O V E M E N T - Moving mindfully & focusing on strength & mobility training, yoga & walking over intense cardio sessions, not only helps maintain bone density & prevent osteoporosis, but helps to manage stress levels & reduce any symptomatic anxiety.

🫁 S T R E S S M A N A G E M E N T - Managing stress & regulating your nervous system can prove pivotal in managing the hormonal changes that occur during perimenopause - Breathwork, journaling, grounding, being in nature are all great practices to adopt.

šŸ’› C O N N E C T I O N - Never underestimate the power of connection. Open, honest, vulnerable communication with others opens a pathway to healing, hope, & light for many.

✨S E L F - A W A R E N E S S - I cannot stress this enough…tracking your cycle & symptoms is key to enhancing self-understanding & knowledge. Who are you? Who are you as you flow through each cyclic phase? What symptoms do you experience? How do you manage these? What’s your normal? Awareness is šŸ”‘

Q. Are you experiencing any perimenopause symptoms & if so, how are you managing them? (No right or wrong answer here!)

šŸ“© Get in touch to chatter about how I can help you during your perimenopausal journey

Tracking your cycle is a great first step in enhancing self-awareness, but knowledge without action is pretty redundant.

Cycle tracking allows us to become intimately acquainted with ourselves; with our triggers, with our physical changes, our emotional sensitivities, with our energetic ebb & flow as we cycle through each phase of our menstrual cycle.

But now what?!

The power really comes from using this info. to enhance day to day wellbeing.

How?!

By planning each area of life around your cyclical needs, meeting yourself where you’re at on any given day.

From get togethers with the friends, to the food you eat, from the type of exercise you do, to your work life…with a bit of forward planning social, family, s*x & work life can all be beautifully synced with your cycle.

I’m intrigued…do you live cyclically & what impact has doing so had on your health & wellbeing?

A powerful reminder from Marianne Williamson that energy is infectious and we all have the power to impact those around us with the energy we exude.

Don’t dim your light.

Shine brightly so that other can bask in your glow and absorb the energy you let flow.

Impactful.

April has been Stress Awareness Month so it’s felt quite apt to strip back my social media and phone use (both little stressors that can build up over time) and spend the month just ā€˜being.’

A month of good food, good travel, good places, good times with good people.

A month of reconnection.

Sometimes stripping things right back is the kindest thing you can do for your physical, mental and emotional well-being.

It’s in those quiet moments, in the stillness of life, that true self-awareness, self-acceptance and self-love can be realised.

Less scrolling.

More living.

• S E L F - C A R E •

How we flow through our period has an impact on the rest of our cycle all month long.

If we don’t honour our needs during our bleed phase, take a step back, embrace a slower pace, gift our body the nourishment and sleep she needs, then the phases that follow may feel tougher than they need to.

Deep rest.

Self-care at its finest.

Q. How do you honour yourself during your period?
