Congratulations to Laura who has been learning to swim at Riverside Leisure Centre, Dunoon. Laura recently swam 1 full length of the pool without stopping - an amazing achievement for her! 👏

Very pleased to report Pauline and I are both doing well (just incase anyone thought I was just skiving! 😂). Thanks to Greenock Telegraph for the article and to Kristin Hamill for being an inspiration and all round lovely human being! 🥰
I feel very lucky that I was able to do this. 🥰

🗣 “She’s given me back a normal life.”

An inspirational woman has told how she donated one of her organs to a childhood friend when she was struck down by kidney failure in the hope of giving her pal her life back. Elaine Graham made the brave decision to give her old schoolmate, Pauline Conroy, one of her kidneys after seeing her pal battle with kidney failure and chronic kidney disease. The 50-year-old, who is the president of local drama group Greenock Players, says her selfless act was inspired by the story of Greenock nurse and fellow Greenock Players member Kristin Hamill, who received a lifesaving kidney transplant from her brother Brendan at the turn of the year.

UPDATE: PHASED RETURN PLANNED
Hello. I’m making good progress with my recovery and am planning a “phased return” to work over the next few weeks. I am currently working through the list of patients that I had to cancel when I went off so if you are one of them I will be in touch soon.
If you are a new patient looking for an appointment, I anticipate it will be the beginning of November before I’m back to full capacity so I understand if you need to go elsewhere in the meantime.

UPDATE: CLINIC CLOSED AT PRESENT
Hello. Hope you're all well. Just to let you know that the clinic is currently closed and will be for the next few weeks. However I wanted to reassure you that I am well.
As some of you may already be aware I was blessed to be well and healthy enough to be able to donate a kidney which I did last week. The operation went well and the transplant has been a success which is great news. 🎉
However it does mean that I'm going to be out of commission for the next wee while whilst I recover.
I will keep you posted as to when I'll be reopening but anticipate it will be the end of September at the earliest.
Thank you for your understanding and apologies for any inconvenience.🙂
