Despite the cold weather a few residents were happy to go on a trip to Ashridge House in the minibus. This place was chosen by one of our residents who had been there before and really wanted to go back again. As usual we had to go for a ☕️and a 🍰 in the cafe.
The next day we had a visit from singer and guitarist David Gibbons. He sang all types of songs, including folk songs. He was recommended by one of our residents and was happy to perform for free.
Thank you David for giving up your spare time. 👏👏👏

We’ve been busy celebrating International and National Awareness Days again.
On National Pizza Day our residents made their own pizza and enjoyed tucking in to them at supper time 🍕
This was followed by Teddy Day. Our residents reminisced of how old they were when they received their teddies and who gave it to them 🧸
Next was Valentines Day with Mark Roper singing love songs to our residents. A few tears were shed as it brought back memories of their past ❤️
Families joined their loved ones for a special meal cooked by our chef Gary. Plus wine and chocolates too 🍷🍫
Pancake Day was a hit. Our residents chose from a variation of toppings and they went down a treat 🥞🥞

This week has been really busy for our staff and residents. On Monday we held a Quiz Night. This was the first time we have done this and will host more throughout 2026.
On Tuesday we took our residents to Milton Keynes to see the Christmas lights and do a bit of shopping. We helped choose Christmas cards for their loved ones then visited Costa for a coffee and cake.☕️🍰
On Wednesday and Thursday we took different residents to Frosts Garden Centre to see the Christmas trees, lights, oversized decorations and singing penguins! Plus more coffee and cake.
This morning we were visited by children from Thomas Whitehead School. They sang Christmas songs and our residents thoroughly enjoyed singing along with them. Unfortunately, but understandably, we were unable to take photos of the school children so I’ve improvised 👶👦🧒👧

Luton Choral Society sang our favourite Christmas carols and residents and staff enjoyed singing along.
We raised a whopping £182.00 in just an hour for Keech Hospice charity which was a great result for such a worthy cause.
Colin from Hope Cafe delivered a great service and words of peace and comfort. He then spoke to our residents individually offering them a personal prayer too.
We also took a few residents to a local Costa for hot chocolate and mince pies.
We have hired a minibus for next week to take as many residents as we can (those who are able) on a trip. These trips include Milton Keynes Christmas display (near John Lewis),
The Old Watermill, Poplars Nursery, Ashridge House and Dobbies.
Don’t forget our Christmas Party tomorrow which starts at 2pm and our Quiz night on Monday 15th from 6pm until 8pm.
We look forward to seeing you there xx
