You may remember a few weeks back that as part of our 150 Days of Volunteering, our colleague Claire's mother Wendy knitted 150 hats which were donated to Luton and Dunstable University Hospital ’s neonatal unit 👏
We were so pleased to have received the following thank you
message from the team at the hospital, who said:
“On behalf of the entire team at Luton & Dunstable Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and especially the families in our NICU, we want to extend our deepest and most sincere thanks for your incredibly kind donation of knitted hats. Your generosity, time and dedication in crafting these tiny treasures is truly appreciated.
“The hats you’ve provided are not just beautiful and warm, they are a vital part of the care we offer to our premature babies. They help to prevent hypothermia, a concern for these little ones, plus provide a sense of comfort and security during a challenging time.
"Beyond the practical benefits, the love and care woven into each stitch is deeply felt by our staff and the families we serve. Knowing that someone they’ve never met has taken the time to create something so special for their baby brings a sense of comfort and support during what can be a very emotional journey."
Well done Wendy, and thank you so much for knitting these in recognition of our anniversary!
