Hi - before I head to the shops I just wondered if we could get a rough idea of numbers for tomorrow as we know quite a few people are away, unwell or wary of the weather ☹️
We need to do a post Christmas restock of lots of things - don’t want to buy too much and waste food but also need to have enough for everyone planning to come!

Back to work and looking forward to seeing everyone.
We will be serving food from 12.45 - 2.00 and closing at 3.00pm

There are a couple of tweaks to our usual menu with an unavoidable price increase for soups and salads and the option to have soup without bread if you’d prefer.
Please let us know if you have any menu suggestions as we’re always open to new ideas.

Happy New Year to all our customers and followers.
We’re looking forward to another year of food, and friendship in 2026.

The end of the year was so busy for us and many customers. So we will open next Tuesday, 7th January with some familiar favourites and a gentle ease into 2026.

Her work is rooted in hands-on community action, and she has long been a powerful advocate for vulnerable people—bridging the gap between local government and grassroots needs.

Our last cafe before Christmas will have some festive twists on our regular menu.

Because of a family birthday, we need to shop early and also want to avoid food waste before the Christmas closure. So we are asking customers to PRE-BOOK and ORDER by the end of FRIDAY 12th DECEMBER please.
There’s no need to book if you’re just popping in for a cuppa or to collect puddings or cakes!

To give the team the chance of a break together, we will be serving food from 12.45 - 1.45pm

Our little tree is really starting to fill up with positive messages in support of the Royal Hospital for Neuro disability in Putney. £55 in donations today. My best moment was watching customers on one table deep in concentration as they wrote messages on the wooden stars with felt tips pens - it was like a busy craft table at playgroup! Thank you for all your support and the tree, stars, pens and info about how to donate will be at the Hub until we close on the 16th December. Please comment or message us if you’d like to know more.

Christmas Fundraiser
- sorry this is a long but important post!

This year we are fundraising for the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability in Putney.
We are doing this in support of one of our customers, Alan.

The RHN is a national medical charity, not part of the NHS. This means they have to raise money to look after their patients and residents. They care for people who haven’t always been disabled but whose lives have been changed completely following an illness or injury.
This incudes Alan who had a stroke last April and is having to relearn so many of the things we all take for granted.

As well as raising money, we also wanted to let Alan know he isn’t forgotten and send messages of support to him and everyone else at the RHN.
So here’s our cunning plan:

1. Take our very old artificial tree
2. Ask people to write a positive word (even just your name) or message on a wooden star and hang it on the tree - in exchange for a donation
3. Photograph the tree and the message to send to Alan.
4. Gather the stars together for Alan’s sister and Mum to take to him after Christmas.

We have the tree, the wooden stars and some fancy pens - but now we need you! Can we transform our poor little tree with stars and strong, positive messages?

We will be doing this at the cafe on the 9th and 16th December. We will also have the technology for you to donate remotely if you can’t get along- we will write your message for you and pop your star on the tree.
