Bringbalanceback2u Yoga for everyone
We comply with GDPR policy May 2018 My yoga journey started in the late nineties as I was working for British Airways.

I was flying around the world, but I didn't feel very grounded. I started to do a yoga class in every country I visited. After the first class I was hooked! I felt like it helped me feel grounded and balanced. I then started to do as many classes as I could, even when I wasn't flying. When 9/11 happened, my company offered unpaid leave and I decided to take my love of yoga further and look for a teacher training course. I qualified in 2003 and haven't looked back! My children inspired me to take my yoga journey further and I qualified in baby yoga with Birthlight and children's yoga with Calm for kids a few years later. I continue to train each year with my favourite teachers, which include Julie G and Makunda. I teach all levels and my aim is to help people with their journey. I teach with humour and a genuine desire to help people find the balance & grounding that I found in this crazy world we live in! The Pacific Soul by jaume plensa.

A 25ft crouching human body made of large stainless steel characters from 8 different alphabets, to symbolise the joining together of humanity through art.

A bit like yoga. Yoga unites.

Yoga is practiced by individuals, communities and countries, in the aim of joining together humanity in a shared practice to improve physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.

In lockdown yoga helped millions of people from all cultures and countries stay well and connected.

Yoga is universal and fosters real community.

Love is in the air!

On the run up to Valentines day, i thought i would share this photo taken of the sculpture 'Unconditional Love,' by Seward Johnson, situated at the waterfront in San Diego, in Tuna Harbour Park.

It is 25ft tall and depicts a sailor and a nurse kissing, celebrating the end of world war II.

I have never really put much importance on, or celebrated Valentines day, but as i get older i realise that celebrating Self Love is really important. The act of Loving oneself.

I like to use this time of year to remember to nurture my own physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. Treating myself with kindness, protecting my energy, eating well, exercising and resting and knowing when i need community and alone time.
You are worthy of every second you devote to yourself.

"You yourself, more than anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection." Buddha.

In yoga we will explore some heart opening poses, connection and loving kindness.
Yoga tonight 7pm.

Joie de vivre!

What brings you joy?

Laughter, connection, play, purpose, kindness, nourishment, peace, creating something, music, movement, nature etc

"Joy grows where attention goes."

What things lift your mood and make you feel alive? And are you doing enough of them?

Finding joy matters. Joy is a lightness when life gets heavy, eases diffuculty and changes perspective and can shift your day entirely by interupting stress and worry.

What kind of things lift your mood and make you feel alive and joyful?
(Joy for me yesterday was a lady giving me her parking ticket, as it had hours left on it and i didn't have to pay.)

Yoga class tuesday 3rd Feb at 7pm.( happy to be back with you all)

This lovely sign is on the waterfront in San Diego.

"Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving."
Albert Einstein.

Progress requires movement.

Staying in one place leads to a loss of balance and direction. For all of us to maintain physical, mental and emotional equilibrium/wellbeing, we must keep taking small steps forward. Much like a stationary bike would fall over, we too must actively participate in life for balance.

Life requires active participation!

This amazing street art is in NYC with Albert Einstein on on a bike with the slogan, peace = love squared, is by brazilian artist Eduardo Kobra.

It is said that Einstein developed most of his theories whilst cycling and this street art appeared with the introduction of cycle lanes in NYC.

In Yoga we are constantly moving/ transitioning in a pose with the breath, And, from pose to pose. You could say that how we move through these transitions in yoga on the mat, is how we move in life off the mat. Are we slow, mindful and present in all we do, or do we rush with no awareness on autopilot?

Bringing true awareness to each moment will transform this experience called life.

Welcome to 2026 and back to yoga everyone. I hope you all had a wonderful break.

The first class of the year is Tuesday 6th January at 7pm and I'm excited to see you all again.

After all the festivities and socialising, it's time to return to our yoga space and reconnect with our community, but maybe more importantly, check back in/reconnect with Our Self.

Let's leave all the tech and stimulus and must do's behind and embrace some stillness. By giving ourselves some much needed time and space to move and attend to our physical body, release any tension we feel, settle our emotions, calm our mind and focus on some mindful breathing, we can move ahead into 2026 feeling grounded, centred and strong.

If all this sounds like something you need, then see you on Tuesday.

Claire and Jana.

December is here!

Probably the busiest time of year in our calender and an important time, to try and maintain our equilibrium.

Seasonally living, this is the time of recovering and rejuvenating. A time of less doing and more being. A time of winding down, having less of a to do list and saying No to more requests. The conclusion of our year.

And ironically, this tends to be the busiest and most sociable time for us!
So prepare yourselves.

Our bodies and brains need time to recover from the previous months of activities. It's a time to reflect on the past years journey and set intentions for the new one to come. A time of introspection.

So, save some time for yourself during the Xmas busyness, to periodically sit and breathe and check in with the body, to bring some balance back.

Yoga Tuesday 2nd December 7pm.

Giving Thanks.

Our American friends celebrate the biggest holiday of their year, this coming Thursday, Thanksgiving.
They spend time with their family and friends and all share a big turkey feast, much like our Xmas day and give Thanks for an abundant harvest and all that they are grateful for.

How often do we stop and appreciate all that we have in life and think about what we are grateful for?

'Be thankful for what you have, you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never ever have enough. " Oprah Winfrey.

Sometimes there is so much we feel is not going right, or we need to change or do, that we forget to be grateful for what we have.

Our friends, family, a home, a job, life lessons, mistakes that make us wise, choices, memories, our Health etc.

Counting our blessings boosts our happiness and outlook in life and thinking about positive experiences and giving Thanks helps us see what is here, instead of what isn't.

I am grateful for you all and our lovely yoga community and I have thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the last year of practicing yoga with you all. You have taught me much. It has been a privilege. πŸ™
