So I'm happy to report, my job here is done! I have absolutely enjoyed the whole experience, even though I really suffered through that last mile. It looks like I might have to live downstairs for a few days now, but boy was it worth it.
I have managed to hit my fundraising goal yesterday too, so I'm not gonna pester anyone anymore, but if you do feel like Tommy's Charity is close to your heart, and would like to help them support more pregnancies and babies that don't have such a lucky starting position in their life, please feel free to still donate, I will drop my link below again. We have time until May to give them a bit of a boost.
To be honest, I have cried through my first couple of miles, as the power of those names and photos on the backs of people's tops were pretty overwhelming. This whole event was so strongly charity based, that the majority of the runners ran in memory of someone they've lost, or in support of someone going through those hardships.
I feel like looking up quite a few of the charities involved, as they are all dealing with the real people's life experiences, and we all probably know someone that would love the helping hand of someone who knows.
A huge thank you to all of you who have supported me through this, whether it was donations to Tommy's, kind words of support or occasional check-ins, offers of help with the family logistics, or even a few likes and shares. I really wouldn't have done it without you.
I am sitting here this was so hard, while pre-registering for the next year 🙈.
