This patient is gorgeous, but has always disliked her small chin. When she told people she was booking in for chin filler, they tried to talk her out of it, telling her she doesn't need it and she will look unnatural. 🙈

Happy International Nurses Day 2025, to every nurse I've ever had the pleasure of working with.

I always say that nursing is the best accident that ever happened to me. I decided to go into nursing 18 years ago when I was at a low point in my life and knew something had to change as I was miserable and gling nowhere.

I applied for nursing purely because it was a free course at uni, and I got paid a bursary throughout my training. It didn't take long for me to realise that children's nursing was my calling. I'm so proud of how far I've come since those dark days, I'm now an advanced nurse practitioner, a role which is breaking boundaries that define nurses. I'm also so honoured to be leading an amazing team of nurses, and watching them flourish is just a joy!

And now, for the last almost 4 years, I've found a new passion for aesthetic nursing and am privileged to meet the most confident, strong, and empowered women who entrust me with their beautiful faces!

Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) and microneedling.

PIH is most common in darker skin and is often caused by acne, extra pigment is produced to try to protect injured cells from further damage (from uv rays).

There's a small chance that microneedling can make this type of pigmentation worse. But fear not, you can still start your journey to smoother, brighter, glowing skin.

We just need to do some extra prep before your treatment.

Get the best from your microneedling trearments by following this advice:

🔹️Drink lots of water 💧and apply a gentle moisturiser to ensure your skin is well hydrated
🔹️ Stop any retinoid 1 week before treatment
🔹️No alcohol for 24 hours before your treatment
🔹️ Thoroughly remove makeup before your appointment
🔹️ Avoid shaving, waxing or harsh exfolients for 1 week before your procedure
🔹️ Stay out of the sun
