We are still currently experiencing a significant IT system failure affecting our electronic patient records and scheduling systems.

If you have an appointment today:
Please still attend unless we contact you directly. We are currently operating on a manual system.

If you have an urgent problem:
Please call 999 or 111, or for non-life-threatening urgent problems, attend reception.

If your enquiry is not urgent:
Please try again in 3 hours to contact us.

We apologise for the inconvenience and are working urgently to resolve this issue.

In April we had 119 patients who 'did not attend' their appointments. We understand that on occasions this is unavoidable and there are valid reasons for missing them, however we do request that if you are unable to attend an appointment that you try and let us know as soon as possible so we can offer the appointment to someone else who needs it.
There are multiple ways to cancel your appointment which include, telephone, email, via the NHS App or by following the link on your reminder SMS.
❗Patients who continuously miss appointments without informing us could potentially be removed from the practice lists.❗

🚨 Our Emergency Department at University Hospital of North Durham is extremely busy, with a high number of patients needing care and treatment.

Please only attend if emergency care is genuinely needed.

⚠️ Patients with minor injuries or illnesses should expect a long wait.

If you’re not sure where to go or need urgent care, please contact NHS 111, online, via the NHS app or by calling 111. They can offer advice, direct you to the right service and may be able to arrange an appointment so you’re seen sooner.
