Our Best Start Family Hubs support families from pregnancy right up until your child turns 19, or 25 if they have special educational needs and disabilities.

They are open 8.30am to 5.00pm, Monday to Thursday and 8.30am to 4.30pm on Friday.

The drop in session at Seaham Family Hub will offer parents / carers / families a warm welcome, refreshments and a chance to meet some of the team to guide them through what programme or support package may be most suitable to meet their individual needs.

Today is the start of Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.

It’s important to know the signs and symptoms – especially as risk increases with age. Most cases develop in men aged 50 or older and prostate cancer is more common in Black men.
Prostate cancer often develops slowly, so there may be no symptoms for many years.
Early diagnosis and treatment can save lives. Contact your GP if you notice any changes in your body or something doesn’t feel right.

In January we had 151 patients who 'did not attend' their appointments. We understand that on occasions this is unavoidable and there are valid reasons for missing them, however please try to let us know if you are unable to attend an appointment so we can offer the appointment to someone who needs it.
You can cancel your appointment by telephone, email, via the NHS App or by following the link on your reminder SMS.
❗Patients who continuously miss appointments without informing us could potentially be removed from the practice lists.❗
