Wear Valley Crematorium Wear Valley Crematorium is a modern, state-of-the art building, which opened on 2 March 2009 and is set in eight acres of well maintained grounds.

We are located six miles from junction 60 of the A1 on the A689 just outside Coundon Village.

💐 Adults from Journey Enterprises in Coundon have been busy creating beautiful wreaths (£20) and lanterns (£15) which will be on sale during the event. All proceeds will go directly back into the centre to support activities for their adults.

On Tuesday 11th November at 11am we will take time to honour the fallen, those who have been injured and those who continue to serve in our armed forces.

A short Remembrance Service will be held in the grounds beginning at 10.55am.

Thank You for Joining Us at Our Open Day!

We’d like to thank everyone who came along to our Open Day on Saturday. We’re delighted to share that we raised £154.00 from the raffle and toy sale, which has been donated to Bringing Back a Smile — the charity we’re proud to support this year.

The Q&A session with Nichola and Steven Reader was a great success, with lots of interesting questions and discussion. Chris our Cremator Technician also had some great feedback from the Behind the Scenes tour, which gave many families peace of mind.

A big thank you also goes to Joanne and Bev from Hardy’s Funeral Services, one of our wonderful local independents, for coming along and supporting us, as well as to Helen from the Co-op at Ferryhill — we couldn’t do these events without your support.

A special shout-out to Margaret, who did a fantastic job selling raffle tickets (we’re sure no one got past her without buying one!).
