✨ Week 1 at Maggie’s… done! ✨

This Thursday I met three new groups of patients at Maggie’s Newcastle for auricular acupuncture to help ease hot flushes during and after cancer treatment.

These groups will run weekly for 8 weeks. Giving patients time to feel the cumulative effects, often helping to reduce the severity and frequency of hot flushes, improve sleep and support overall wellbeing 💚

Acupuncture isn’t regulated in the UK, this means that anyone can undertake a short course.
Here’s a quick reminder of what you should be looking for when choosing a safe practitioner.

1. Check qualifications, you should look for someone who’s completed a minimum of 3 years of BSc training in acupuncture.
2. Look for someone nearby who’s a British Acupuncture Council member
3. Make sure your practitioner is on an accredited register such as the PSA

These three things will keep you safe when choosing an acupuncturist

🚨 IMPORTANT: Clinic Updates 🚨 Prices and Cancellation Policy

From 18th September 2025, I’ll be changing from a 24-hour to a 48-hour cancellation policy.

Why? Recently, I’ve had an increase in cancellations over the past few months which are just outside of the 24-hour cancellation window.

Because I don’t take deposits, late cancellations mean I lose both income and valuable time that could have been offered to someone else. It’s not just the missed appointment, I still have to cover rent, membership fees, and running costs.

For every appointment, I also spend time before you arrive making sure I’m giving you the best treatment for where you are in your journey. Last-minute cancellations mean that work is already done, even if the appointment doesn’t go ahead.

👉 New Cancellation Policy:
❌ Cancel less than 48 hours before = 50% of the treatment required
❌ Cancel within 24 hours / don’t attend = full treatment cost required

💷 Price Update
From 1st October 2025, there will be a small increase to prices across all treatments due to rising operating costs. An acupuncture appointment will be £66.50, previously £65, and you can view the updated price list on my website.
