๐Ÿš‘ Fleet Update ๐Ÿš‘

Weโ€™re pleased to welcome a new vehicle into the fleet, replacing our former SA04.

This latest addition strengthens our ability to deliver safe, reliable and professional High Dependency transport and medical support wherever itโ€™s needed. With enhanced capability and improved efficiency, it ensures we continue to meet the high standards our clients and patients expect.

This vehicle will soon be kitted up to the high standards we expect of our vehicles to ensure the right equipment is available when our crews require it.

๐Ÿ“ Onwards and upwards as we continue to invest in quality, safety, and service delivery with more vehicles to come over the year.

Industrial action by resident doctors, organised by the BMA, begins today at 7am and is due to finish at 7am on Monday 13 April 2026.

Please choose NHS services carefully during this period to help keep care available for those who need it most ๐Ÿ’š emergency teams are working across the region, responding to life-threatening emergencies and urgent calls.

If you need health advice or treatment and itโ€™s not a life-threatening emergency, there are simple ways to get the right care without calling 999:

๐Ÿ“ฑ NHS App: Manage repeat prescriptions, check symptoms, view appointments, and access trusted NHS advice from your phone.๏ฟฝ๐Ÿ‘‰ https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-app/

๐Ÿ’ป NHS 111 online: Get medical advice when itโ€™s not life-threateningโ€”check your symptoms and be directed to the right service quickly.๏ฟฝ๐Ÿ‘‰ https://111.nhs.uk

๐Ÿ’Š Your local pharmacy, GP, or dentist: For common illnesses, medication advice, minor infections, and ongoing health concerns. Pharmacists are highly trained clinicians who can assess and treat many everyday conditions without an appointment.๏ฟฝ๐Ÿ‘‰ https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-services/services-near-you/

๐Ÿš‘ If it is not a life-threatening emergency, please do not call 999.๏ฟฝ999 is for serious conditions such as cardiac arrest, breathing difficulties, stroke symptoms, severe bleeding, or when someoneโ€™s life is at immediate risk.

Choosing the right service helps emergency teams reach the sickest patients faster. With significant pressure currently being experienced across our regions hospitals and the North East Ambulance Service, your support is more important than ever. Thank you for supporting your community and helping keep emergency care available for those who need it most.

Looking forward to this, this Sunday travelling from Durham to Darlington and back to Durham once again in support of Durham Easter Egg Run, we look forward to working alongside Durham Roads & Armed Policing to ensure the safety of those taking part in this fantastic event

โ€ผ๏ธ If you are travelling in the area this Sunday, please be aware that the annual Durham Easter Egg run is taking place from 10am.

The charity ride will see hundreds of bikers meet at Tesco at Dragonville Retail Park before riding to Darlington Memorial Hospital and then to University Hospital of North Durham.

The bikers are delivering Easter eggs to children at the hospitals.

We expect considerable disruption to traffic in the general areas of Durham City, the A167 to Darlington, Darlington town centre, the A68 out of Darlington, School Aycliffe Lane, the A167 north to Durham City and Sniperley roundabout to Southfield Way.

If you are due to be driving in these areas between 10am to 1pm, please be aware there will be congestion on the roads as the bikers make their way to the hospitals.

We are shocked and saddened to see the horrific destruction of emergency vehicles, especially those that are provided by the community for the community free of charge.

We have assisted our local Gateshead Hatzola with training of their members.

Our best wishes go to the Hatzola North London team at Golders Green and we hope you are back available soon to respond to the community.

An early start for our multidisciplinary team of Paramedics, Emergency Care Assistants and First Responders as we provided medical cover for the RunThrough North East Middlesbrough Half Marathon today.

It was a busy event, with our teams delivering on-site assessment and treatment throughout โ€” ensuring there was no impact on local statutory ambulance services for hospital conveyance.

To everyone we assessed and treated, we hope you're recovering well and look forward to seeing you at the next event.
