I've just seen a post somewhere about an 8 week old baby struggling with wind so I went to grab this link and now I can't find the post 🤦‍♀️
But it's reminded me that this needs sharing regularly for the many babies that seem to struggle and the parents who want so very much to help their unsettled babies.
Maybe the mam asking for help will also see this 🤞

I'm often asked about any first aid courses I know of, so I'm pleased to share that Mini First Aid Durham, Consett, Hartlepool, Bishop Auckland have a new venue in Durham!

We’ve been looking for a new venue in Durham for a few months, and we’ve found a cracker! Durham City Methodists Old Elvet Church right in the heart of the city! We’re starting a little later than normal so you can use the on street parking too. Don’t worry about the babysitter if your little one is already here, we welcome all pre crawlers!

Worried about choking or head bumps? You are not alone they are the top two reasons why parents and care-givers come to our award winning classes. We also go beyond basic first aid and discuss issues such as meningitis, sepsis and febrile seizures, but all in a very friendly and open way. Parents, parents to be, grandparents, fosterers even babysitters have all benefited from this short course and everyone gets a booklet to take home and remind them of what has been said!

Some mornings leaving the house is hard. A rough night, rubbish weather, or lack of motivation can make a cosy day in the house feel more appealing, but sometimes a whole day in the house with a baby can feel like a very long day!

During my last Baby Massage class, we chatted about what motivated the parents to book the course in the first place.

Reasons ranged from wanting something to do that provides dedicated one to one time with their baby, to wanting to learn massage properly with feedback from an instructor and the opportunity to ask questions (something you don't get from watching a YouTube video!).
I often also hear people say that they were searching for a class that is relaxing or calming for not only their baby but for themselves too.

All of these things can be found in my classes, and it was SO lovely to hear the mums say that my class 'felt like a nice warm hug' and 'I always leave feeling so much better after this class'. It absolutely made my day!

It really is SO much more than just massage 😍

Half of the places on my next Baby Massage course have already been booked!
The 5 week course starts on Thursday, 8th January, 10.00 - 11.30 at Mae Raes in Carrville, Durham.

The course is suitable from birth to 12 months with adaptations taught to cater for all stages of development and temperament - notice this baby's position during her massage!

It's a cue based programme, which means you'll always be encouraged to respond to your baby's needs whenever they arise, and by the end of the course you'll have a deeper understanding of how your baby communicates.
