RTMinds

RTMinds RTProjects uses art to save lives. is here for people who live with depression, anxiety and those at risk of suicide Art should be part of a healthy lifestyle.

RTProjects is an independent registered charity, set up in 2007 upon the belief that art can save lives. We aim to reduce anxiety and depression by enabling people to use art to strengthn their emotional resilience. We believe that everyone can benefit from participation in creative activities. Modern lifestyles are all too often made up mostly of work and TV, leaving many people disconnected from creative thought and discontented with their lives. We think of it as ‘jogging for the mind’. Discovering art can be life changing. Art can:
Enable people to re-connect with themselves and others;
Reduce Anxiety through engagement in mindful activity;
Improve self esteem by producing something to be proud of;
Stimulate the creative part of the brain. RTProjects is a powerful alternative to clinical and pharmaceutical treatments. We know it works. We see first hand the life-changing impact our projects have upon people’s lives.

So...who wants to see our North Pole Challenge progress?

As you can see on the map, we've made it almost 127 miles, getting us just shy of Edinburgh, around Tranent in East Lothian. We have travelled 5.21% of the way to the North Pole, and raised 5.5% of our donation target (£135).

It is FIVE WEEKS TO CHRISTMAS (sorry), so we have five weeks to travel 2,306.74 miles, which is just over 461 miles per week. By our calculations we need a lot more people to join our challenge, and add their miles to our total. We have seven brave souls so far (plus and 8th doing a cycle challenge soon), but we could do with some company. Who is with us?

We'd also love some more donations. We need about £460 a week over the next five weeks. It's an ambitious target, but we have faith. If you can spare anything at all, we can guarantee that every penny we receive goes towards saving lives.

We'll continue to update every week, so you can see how close we're getting. If you can't wait that long, do drop Adam an email on adam@rtprojects.org.uk, and while you're there, why not sign up to the challenge as well?

You can still donate at localgiving.org/fundraising/North-Pole-Challenge

Thank you

Who's ready to see our progress so far? Come back tomorrow and we'll show you where our intrepid travellers have made it to so far, and where we are on donations against our ambitious target. So don't forget to email adam@rtprojects.org.uk (or contact Adam Jenkins directly) with your miles. And of course we'd still love your donations - localgiving.org/fundraising/North-Pole-Challenge.

Art can be used to help with a host of mental health struggles. One of the things we can focus on is self confidence. How proud would you feel if you had created this fantastic stained glass window for the front of The Open Art Surgery RTProjects
