One of the things I am most proud of in my practice is that no two treatments are ever the same. I have always believed that each client deserves a completely personalised experience. When someone books an appointment with me, I do not simply run through a standard routine. Instead, I listen carefully to what they share, pay attention to how they present in that moment, and tune in to what might be going on beneath the surface.

This means that my treatments are not formulaic. They are intuitive and adaptive. Some clients come in needing physical relief from tension or pain, so I may blend deep tissue massage with aromatherapy to target the body directly. Others arrive carrying emotional stress, and in those cases, I might combine reiki, guided meditation, or hypnotherapy to support the mind and spirit as well as the body. At times, clients are best served by simplicity – a quiet, grounding back massage that offers space to rest without overcomplication.

This flexibility is what keeps my work so rewarding. After three decades in the industry, I know that true care means responding to the unique needs of each individual. I see treatments as a dialogue rather than a prescription. The client leads, and I follow with compassion and skill.

I often hear from clients that they feel truly seen and understood after their sessions. That is always my goal – not just to deliver a therapy, but to create an experience that supports the whole person in a way that feels right for them.

Wellness is often spoken about in terms of calmness, relaxation, and stress relief. While these are valuable, I have always seen wellness as something much deeper. For me, wellness means creating transformation that lasts far beyond the therapy room.

Each treatment is an opportunity to support not only the physical body, but also the emotional and spiritual wellbeing of the client. My role is to listen carefully, both to what is spoken and to what is unsaid, and to use my intuition and experience to create a session that truly meets the client where they are. Sometimes this involves blending multiple therapies such as massage, aromatherapy, and reiki. At other times, it means stepping back and offering something simple, such as a grounding back massage, when that is what the client most needs.

Wellness is not about pushing a set package or promoting the latest trend. It is about presence, sensitivity, and adaptability. Over the years, I have learned that clients appreciate being treated as individuals, and that true healing often comes in the quietest, most unexpected moments.

This philosophy has also guided me as I have grown as a practitioner, trainer, and author. By sharing my knowledge, holding women’s circles, running retreats, and writing resources, I aim to help people access wellness in many different ways. My award nominations for Wellness Therapist of the Year and Holistic Practitioner of the Year reflect this commitment to authentic, personalised care.

Wellness is not something I simply teach or provide – it is something I live by, and it continues to inspire everything I do.

My career in holistic therapies began almost thirty years ago, in 1995, when I trained in Swedish massage. At the time, I had a young family and balanced my passion for therapies with teaching at local colleges. Those early years showed me that this work was far more than a career – it was a calling.

As my son grew older, I began working as a freelance therapist for local spas and organisations. Soon after, I started renting a room in a hair salon, working around school hours to support clients. What began as a small side passion gradually grew into something bigger. Over the years, I expanded to a second room, introduced training alongside treatments, and eventually took on my own premises, which I have now been running for more than 16 years.

Through all of these transitions, one thing has remained the same: my belief that therapies should be intuitive, personalised, and deeply respectful of each client’s needs. I have never wanted to deliver formulaic treatments. Each person who walks through my door has a story, and my role is to listen, tune in, and create a treatment that feels right for them in that moment.

This approach has also shaped my role as a trainer. Students often arrive with the dream of building a business, but they need guidance on what that truly looks like. I share not only the techniques but also the practical, real-world knowledge that helps them thrive in the long term.

Looking back, I feel very proud of the journey from a single room in a salon to a thriving centre with a training academy, women’s circles, group hypnotherapy, and annual retreats. My recent award nominations feel like recognition not just for me, but for every client and student who has been p

I am very proud to share that I have been nominated in three categories at the Beauty & Skincare Awards UK 2025: Wellness Therapist of the Year, Holistic Practitioner of the Year, and Training Academy of the Year.

This recognition means so much because it reflects the many years of dedication I have given to holistic therapy and teaching. I began my journey in 1995 with Swedish massage and, over time, developed my skills across a wide range of therapies including aromatherapy, reflexology, hypnotherapy, reiki, sound therapy, and more. Each qualification added depth, but more importantly, every client I worked with gave me new insight into how holistic therapies can truly change lives.

The awards highlight the breadth of the industry, but my personal mission has always been very clear. I want clients to feel seen, heard, and cared for as individuals, not as numbers on a conveyor belt. I also want to guide the next generation of therapists to succeed, not just in learning their craft but in creating sustainable, meaningful businesses that support their wellbeing as much as their clients’.

For me, this nomination is not just about professional recognition. It is about shining a light on the power of holistic therapy, celebrating the resilience of those of us who adapted through challenging times, and honouring the incredible students and clients who have trusted me on their journey.

Being shortlisted across three categories is an honour, and I look forward to the awards night with gratitude for how far this path has taken me.

An update on my latest book. I am hoping it will be released for Christmas but I still have some work to do on it so it may be more like March 2026.

The book is a profile of British common garden herbs and what to do with them. Its a deep dive into the history, growing, harvesting and using them in culinary, apothecary and stillroom recipes.
It is harnessing my catering and hosptiality and bakery experience as well as my aromatherapy experience and I am l loving writing it but it is truly a labour of love.
6 herbs have been profiled so far, I am working on herb no.7 and plan to do 5 more.
