It’s World Sleep Day today.
It seems many fall short in the number of hours they sleep each night.
It is recommended we achieve an average of 8 hours but sleep scientist Matthew Walker says many people are falling short of that mark with consequences for health and performance.
Sleep is important because it can help us heal physically, recover from an illness, cope with stress, solve problems, improve our motor skills and consolidate memories.
There are many factors we can change to improve sleep length and quality.
World Sleep Day (WSD) is an annual celebration of sleep & call to action on important sleep issues organized by World Sleep Day Committee of World Sleep Society
