New to Floating?
If floating has caught your interest, the best thing you can do is simply try it. We’re open six days a week, and we genuinely enjoy introducing people to floating and helping them feel at ease.
Floating is safe, clean, and designed to help you fully relax. You’re always in control of your experience, and once outside distractions fade away, many people discover a deep sense of calm and stress relief. For your first float, we recommend coming in with no expectations—just relax and enjoy the time.
To experience the full, long-term benefits, we suggest booking three sessions initially, spaced fairly close together. Floating works best when the benefits build over time.
Below are some of the most common questions we’re asked.
Is there anything I should do to prepare?
There’s nothing complicated to prepare. We recommend avoiding caffeine for at least four hours before your session, as it can make relaxation more difficult. It’s also best not to shave or wax right beforehand, as the salt water may irritate sensitive skin.
Eating a light meal one to 90 minutes before your float is ideal. Other than that, there’s nothing else you need to do.
Do I need to bring anything?
Very little. If you have long hair, you may want to bring a comb. If you wear contact lenses, please bring a case so you can remove them before floating.
We provide towels, earplugs, body wash, shampoo, and hair dryers.
What if I’m claustrophobic?
This is a common concern, but most people find it isn’t an issue. Floating feels more like drifting in open space than being enclosed.
You remain in full control throughout the session and can leave the pod door open if that helps you feel more comfortable. Even guests who describe themselves as claustrophobic often find the experience surprisingly relaxing.
Can more than one person float at a time?
Each float session is for one person only. We have a single pod, ensuring your experience is completely private and uninterrupted.
Do I have my own private room?
Yes. You’ll have a private room with your own float pod and shower to use before and after your session.
Most guests choose not to wear a swimsuit, as fabric can interfere with the weightless sensation, but this is entirely your choice.
Will my skin wrinkle like it does in the bath?
No. The Epsom salt in the water actually leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth.
Can I float if I’m pregnant?
Yes, many pregnant guests find floating especially beneficial. There is a floating position that relieves pressure and supports the body comfortably.
If you are in your third trimester or have any concerns, we recommend consulting your healthcare provider before your session.
What if I fall asleep during my float?
Some people do fall asleep, and that’s completely safe. The water is highly buoyant, so you will remain floating at all times.
Do I have to stay in for the full session?
You’re free to leave the pod at any point. That said, most people find the 60-minute session passes very quickly once they’re relaxed.
How do you clean the pod?
Cleanliness is a top priority. After each session, the water goes through multiple filtration cycles, and the high salt content naturally prevents bacteria growth.
We also use UV light and non-toxic disinfectants, making the water exceptionally clean.
Is floating just new-age mumbo jumbo?
Not at all. Floating has been around for over 60 years and is supported by extensive research. It’s a proven method for deep relaxation and stress relief.
