Today we had a leisurely cruise along the River Wear on the Prince Bishop.
It was a really beautiful day and so peaceful on the river. Many thanks to Jamie and his crew for the fascinating commentary and looking after us so well.

We had a very distinguished visitor at our coffee morning today. The Mayor of Durham Cllr Gary Hutchinson. It was great to have him spend some time chatting to some of our members and explaining the vital work we do, including supporting people affected by social isolation whether due to age, disability, or frailty.
Everyone was very happy to see him.

We had some excellent feedback for our minibus driver 'the lovely Janet' that I wanted to share.
Janet recently took some residents and staff from a local care home on a trip to the seaside. Everyone had fish and chips, icecream, and a scenic drive along the coast.
They all had such a good time we're taking them out on more trips.
What a star she is! Thank you for your hard work x

We had a breezy and sunny day at Mediaeval Ulnaby Farmshop today. Its always nice to get out and about somewhere new, have something nice to eat and a good chat. Getting picked up and dropped off at the door by the brilliant Janet makes it so easy. Another lovely day. And yes that is a llama!

Today we went to fabulous Harrogate. One of Yorkshire's prettiest towns.
We all made the most of the wide range of shops cafes and pubs. Personally I paid Betty's Tea Room a visit! Before we got back on the bus to be dropped of safely back at home by the amazing Janet.

We've had a wonderfully busy 2025 so far! Lots of trips and coffee mornings. Equipment hire to enable people to enjoy our city and supporting other small charities with transport.
Each of these events provides vital support to people who would struggle to get out and about without us. We are so happy to see the friendship, community and health benefits this results in.
This is all down to our hard working and dedicated team of staff, volunteers and board members.
As a small charity that operates on a not for profit basis each and every £ we make goes straight back in to keeping us going.

Say hello to the amazing Janet who has worked with us for 25 years 🍾.

Janet organises and runs all of our trips and coffee mornings. We're picked up and dropped off at our doors, and dropped off again centrally at our destination. Janet also knows where the toilets, cafes and shops are.

Penshaw farm shop today! We took full advantage of the magnificent cafe, bakery and butchers. If you love cake this is the place for you. The sun shone on us and it stayed dry all day. A little taster of spring.
Janet did her usual brilliant doorstep pick ups and drop offs.
What a lovely day we had.
