Our Story

Stinchcombe Manor is a small, family-run Residential home situated in the heart of the peaceful and picturesque village of Stinchcombe, close to the Cotswold town of Dursley. The home is a renovated Grade II listed manor house built in 1836, by Reverend Sir G Prevost, a local Clergyman. The home is set in 3.5 acres of peaceful and mature gardens, which add to the calm and relaxing nature which is prevalent throughout.

Stinchcombe Manor benefits from individually personalised bedrooms catering for up to 36 residents. We have a large lounge decorated in a Victorian style, and 2 communal themed rooms for orientation and reminiscence activities. The dining area has been thoughtfully designed as a tea room of days gone by, with the rest of the home providing varying interactive scenes of similar past times, all created to nurture and stimulate conversation and personal memories.

The proprietor, Linda Hughes is from a nursing background and has over 25 yrs’ experience in Social Care provision. She purchased the home in 2015 with a vision to create a unique and personalised setting, specialising in the highest quality of individualised dementia care. Stinchcombe provides a homely environment which is conducive in enabling individuals to feel safe and secure, whilst still maintaining their independence and providing a purpose to their daily life through occupation and social activity.
