🙌 Pain/injury treatment for tight erector spinae and limited lumbar flexion & rotation
💥 Tight back? It might be your erector spinae working overtime 💥
These powerful muscles run the full length of your spine — from your lower back (lumbar) all the way up to your upper back (thoracic) — keeping you upright, stable, and supported.
When they tighten up, you might feel:
⚡️ A dull ache or stiffness in the lower or mid-back
⚡️ Tension climbing into the upper back and shoulders
⚡️ Reduced ability to twist or bend comfortable
⚡️ Poor posture — that “arched lower back, rounded shoulders” combo
⚡️ Headaches or neck strain from tension pulling upward
In this session, I’m using:
🔹 Cupping therapy to decompress fascia and increase blood flow
🔹 Deep tissue massage to release stubborn muscular tension
🔹 Fascia scraping (IASTM) for mobility and tissue glide, increase blood flow and loosen fascia
🔹 Targeted stretching + spinal flexion & rotation to restore movement through the full spine
Also assessed his lumbar range of motion before and after the session, to compare the difference and see progress
👉 Movements like lumbar flexion (gentle forward bends) and controlled twists help lengthen the erector spinae and keep the spine moving fluidly. These motions counteract the chronic extension and tightness that build up from sitting, heavy lifting, or poor posture.
💡Other muscles worked 💡
Surrounding muscles such as lower back, upper glutes and hamstrings.
Why?
Because these muscles work together to support the back.
✨ Your spine thrives on movement — keep it mobile, not immobile. 💪
