🌿 You’re allowed to rest.
In a world that constantly asks for more, it’s easy to forget that you need looking after too. Making time for yourself isn’t selfish — it’s essential. When you pause, even briefly, your mind and body get a chance to reset.

💛 You deserve moments of calm, comfort, and care. If you’re finding it hard to slow down or feeling overwhelmed, you’re not alone — and support is always within reach.

😊 Take a Moment to Smile Today

In the middle of busy days, heavy thoughts, or long to‑do lists, it’s easy to forget something beautifully simple… smiling.
A smile — even a small one — can shift your whole system. It signals safety to the body, softens tension, and invites a little more light into the moment you’re in. You don’t need everything to be perfect to smile; sometimes it’s the act of smiling itself that helps you feel a little more grounded.

🌿 Why smiling helps your wellbeing
• It relaxes the nervous system and reduces stress
• It boosts mood by releasing feel‑good hormones
• It helps you feel more connected to others
• It reminds your mind that there are moments of ease, even on difficult days

💛 Find one small thing to smile about today

🌈 Neurodiversity Celebration Week — Honouring Different Minds, Different Strengths

This week marks Neurodiversity Celebration Week, a global initiative founded by Siena Castellon in 2018 to challenge stereotypes and shift the narrative around neurological differences. Its purpose is simple but powerful: to help the world recognise the many strengths, talents, and perspectives that neurodivergent individuals bring to our communities, workplaces, and families.

At Butterfly Counselling, we believe deeply in creating spaces where every mind feels understood, valued, and supported. Neurodiversity Celebration Week invites all of us—schools, universities, organisations, and community groups—to move beyond awareness and towards true inclusion. That means recognising not just the challenges neurodivergent people may face, but also the creativity, insight, innovation, and resilience they contribute every day.

🌟 Happy Good Samaritan Day! 🌟

On March 13th, we celebrate the kindness, compassion, and small acts of care that make a big difference in people’s lives. 💙

At Butterfly Counselling, we’re reminded every day how powerful it can be when someone takes the time to listen, support, and show understanding. Whether it’s offering a helping hand, checking in on a friend, or simply being present for someone who’s struggling, these moments of kindness truly matter.

How will you show kindness today? 🦋

🌿 5 Signs You Might Be Experiencing Burnout

Burnout doesn’t always happen overnight. It can build up slowly, and many people don’t realise they’re experiencing it until they feel completely overwhelmed.

Here are a few signs to look out for:

• Feeling exhausted, even after resting
• Loss of motivation or interest in things you usually enjoy
• Irritability or feeling emotionally numb
• Trouble concentrating or staying focused
• Feeling overwhelmed by even small tasks

If any of these feel familiar, you’re not alone. Burnout is more common than many people realise, and support can make a real difference.

You don’t have to handle it alone. 🦋

☀️❄️ The Effects of the Weather

Just like the seasons shift around us, our mood can shift too. A snowy, grey, wet or windy day might make everything feel a little heavier, while a bright spring morning can bring a sense of lightness and possibility. Both experiences are completely natural — and both deserve kindness.

How weather can influence how we feel
- Less daylight can lower our energy and motivation
- Cold, gloomy days may make us want to withdraw
- Brighter days often lift our mood and help us feel more connected
- Seasonal changes can disrupt sleep, routines, and focus

Small things that can help, whatever the weather brings
- Spend a few minutes in natural light, even by a window
- Keep a gentle routine to anchor your day
- Move your body in a way that feels comfortable and kind
- Reach out to someone — connection warms us in any season
- Give yourself permission to slow down when you need to

Whether you’re wrapped up on a cold day or soaking in the first signs of spring, your feelings are valid. If seasonal changes are affecting your wellbeing, Butterfly Counselling is here to support you with understanding and compassion.
