The main criteria are that the condition fits within the prescriber scope of practice and the prescriber is happy to diagnose/prescribe with patient. It is important to stress that the service does not replace the need for GPs and as such the patient will be informed that their GP may be contacted following the consultation. Furthermore, while all patients are seen by the prescriber, this does not
guarantee the issuing of a prescription. Prescriptions will only be issued if appropriate, ultimately keeping patient safety the priority. This service targets patients who need to be seen for the following conditions:
• Erectile dysfunction
• Malaria prevention (doxycycline, Lariam, Malarone)
• Hair retention
• Oral contraception
• Quit smoking (Champix)
• Weight loss (orlistat)
• Infections (urine infection, Upper respiratory infections, skin infections, ENT infections)
• Allergy induced asthma
• Limited respiratory conditions (asthma)
• Allergy control
• Acne
• Travelers diarrhoea
• Skin conditions
• Repeat medication requests and patient requests from abroad that have left their medications at home.
