On the New Moon on Tuesday, February 17th will be the Lunar New Year which will be the start of the Year Of The Horse. This is a 12-year cycle event symbolizing intense energy, action, freedom, and rapid change. Previous Horse years have been 2014, 2002, 1990, 1978, 1966, and 1954.

This will be the year of the fire horse which happens about every 60 years. This energy brings cultural shifts, war, natural disasters, intense change, rebellion, and progress. Fire is energy, passion, enthusiasm, movement. Combined with the energy of the horse, this is amplified to an almost chaotic place. The last year of the fire horse was in 1966.

Independence & freedom – Horses hate being confined. This year favors independence, travel, and breaking out of stale situations.

Confidence & charisma – The Horse is associated with charm, visibility, and being noticed. This will be great for leadership, performance, and public roles or if you want to be seen in a certain role or situation. Stand out.

Progress through action – Less talk, more doing. Success comes from decisiveness rather than over-planning.

🕯 Friday The 13th Coming up.
A date they taught you to fear.
A current the Old Ways remember as sacred.

I am a Viking Pagan Witch and High Priestess.
I do not speak of Freyja as myth or aesthetic.
I speak of her as lineage. As living current.

Friday is named for Freyja, the great Vanir goddess whose name echoes through the Germanic tongues. Just as Thursday remembers Thor, Friday remembers Her.

Every Friday carries her frequency.

And the number 13?
Lunar. Cyclical. Blood. Rebirth.
The number of the feminine mysteries.

It was never unlucky.
It was powerful.

When Christianity moved through the Norse lands, many deities were softened, reframed, absorbed into sainthood.

Freyja could not be softened.

She governed sexuality and sovereignty.
Fate and prophecy.
Battle and beauty.
Wealth and death.

She chose half the slain for Fólkvangr while Odin took the other half to Valhalla.

She wore Brísingamen not as decoration but as earned power.

She rode in her falcon cloak between worlds.

She commanded seiðr the deep trance magic of fate weaving.

And this is what unsettled the Church.
She did not ask permission.

She taught the gods seiðr.
She trained the völvas, the staff bearing seeresses.
She ruled desire without shame.
She embodied fertility and war in the same breath.

A woman who feels.
A woman who chooses.
A woman who sees and refuses to bow.

What could not be controlled was reframed.
Power became excess.
Sensuality became sin.
Authority became vanity.

This pattern is ancient.
And it is still happening.

But the Old Ways do not forget.

Why did I step back onto this path? The truth is, it happened almost by accident. I went to a Mind, Body & Spirit fair and felt pulled towards a reading with a well-known psychic named Anthony. I thought I was going there to receive guidance… but instead I ended up giving him a reading.

I brought through a loved one for him so clearly and so strongly that it shook us both. It lit something in me again. I realised it was time to stop ignoring my spiritual gifts and start owning them. That moment felt like a door opening.

And these are the beautiful words he wrote about our meeting 😌

The fun part of the story is that it turns fate on its head—your spiritual spark stepping forward when you least expected it.

“Can’t post direct so please add this to your site.”

I met Donna by chance and she told me about the man with his hand on my shoulder. She then said some things that only two people in this world and one who had passed over would know. I was taken aback.
I went home and after a couple of days reflection told my wife - who is the other living person who would understand what Donna had told me. Maxine asked me if she could meet Donna.

Donna said that she would be willing to meet but couldn’t promise to speak to this person. (She knew who it was but I don’t wish to say here).

We visited her and she brought much joy and relief to Maxine and said things that were very unique about the person who had passed. It made Maxine cry but tears of joy as well as sorrow. Donna was reassuring and patient and understanding.

We treasure those words and that time we spent with Donna.
