This morning I am all set up in my office space putting the final touches to this evenings guided mediation - thank goodness I have the wonderful Custard acting as my fluffy PA. Her input is truly invaluable.....
If you feel as though a little bit of extra deep rest is required this evening, then our guided meditations are designed to soothe, comfort and deeply nourish. All from the comfort of your own home. And yes, pets are most welcome!

The apple tree next to the yoga hut is looking so pretty at the moment, its the first time it has properly blossomed in the 4 years since it was planted. There are 6 patio fruit trees around and about the hut. 4 have already blossomed, 2 have already got the most tiny, tiny fruits starting their growing journey, and 2 are in full glorious blossom right now.

It is so pretty that I found myself wishing that all of the fruit trees would blossom all at once because - you know - aesthetically that would be SO super pleasing! But actually this staggered blossoming is lovely, it prolongs the season a little, and obviously different fruit trees need different light and warmth in order to blossom.

It did also make me think about how we all come to things in our own time, in our own way - and that at different points in life we can feel as though we are in some way behind where we should be, or not quite where we hoped to be. Someone said to me recently that in 2 years of yoga they did not feel they had improved at being able to stay in down dog at all (they had!) but, really, even if your down dog hasn't improved - or has even, as mine has, got a bit wobblier (a sprained wrist followed by a frozen shoulder will do that!) it does not mean your yoga practice is not where it should be. Your yoga practice, however it is looks that day, is exactly where it should be. The beauty of yoga is that, when done with compassion and understanding, it meets you exactly where you are on that day, physically, emotionally, energetically, mentally.
We are part of nature, our bodies know what they are doing, just like the apple blossom!

With spring love,
Emma xx

April is Stress Awareness Month.

For me, nature is an essential part of stress management. Grounding, settling, soothing for the mind, body and soul.

Over the weekend we stumbled across our first bluebell woods of the season. This to me is such a marker of being IN spring, one of my favourite things as it is such a treat for all the senses. I also love that these big carpets of bluebells generally are found in ancient woodlands, which have their own special beauty and their own special feeling too.

I am so looking forward to classes beginning again next week!
See you soon!
With love,
Emma xx

My bid to move into the solid, the tangible, the meaningful continues. As algorithms and services step up their determination to stop people from seeing what I am doing I simply offer it in to the world in the old way. The curve of hand drawn calligraphy, decorated flyers to be offered to the people who come to me in person. Word of mouth, the feel of paper, the time care and love of the non-virtual world. Yes it takes time and effort. But everything worthwhile does!
