Not everything meant for you
can be found through more information.

Maybe beneath all the noise, conditioning, information and constant stimulation, there is already an inner knowing quietly waiting for us to listen.

THAT can only be remembered
through stillness, presence and listening within.

Smaran is a space for that remembering

through breath, sound, stillness and body-based practices
a return to your own inner compass, your own intelligence, your own essence.

It’s easy to look at pain as a “punishment” to give it a moral dimension, but really, pain is just our body’s way of letting us know we are out of balance

We can also look at pain as the body’s way of communicating to us that we need to pay attention to something.

Maybe we are doing too much of something, maybe we are doing too little of another thing, or maybe we are doing the wrong thing for us at that moment.

Pain is intelligence and compassion.

Pain is a message, information shared with our consciousness for our benefit.

Qigong teaches us ways to ask and receive messages, and Qigong provides us a means to balance the imbalances that cause pain.

As healers, pain serves to teach us, directly through our own lived experiences, compassion, patience, and sympathy for the pain of others.

Pain is a guide and pain is a gift. It guides us to our own healing and prepares us to help others.

Love & Blessings,
Chunyi Lin

You can often tell based on where you feel nerve symptoms (burning, numbness, tingling) which nerves are involved. This can give you an idea where to look to address the problem. If you find your sensation pattern overlaps multiple nerve areas, it likely means your issue comes from higher up the nerve tract, before the nerves have branched off.

Interesting…. Isn’t it? Body is so smart and knows what it’s doing to keep it running effectively 🌟

It's been known since the late 1800's that the body alternates between predominantly using the left and right nostrils to breathe -- in anywhere from 30 minute to 4 hour cycles. At the time, no one really knew what it was for and offered multiple dubious explanations. What has since been learned is that the body does this to help regulate a number of bodily functions and processes. Air taken through the right nostril stimulates the sympathetic nervous system, increasing circulation, cortisol levels, blood pressure, heart rate, etc. Air taken through the left nostril stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, lowering blood pressure, heart rate, cooling the body and reducing anxiety. And to answer the obvious question, yes -- selectively breathing through one nostril or the other CAN be used therapeutically.

This is why- Problem isn’t always where the pain is…. Body is a whole unit and masking or treating just the pain area never get us out of pain.

The bones of the skull are supposed to move; albeit not a lot. When something that is supposed to move does so incorrectly or gets misaligned, problems ensue. Each cranial bone has its own characteristic issues associated with misalignment/restriction. The sphenoid bone is no exception. Symptoms of sphenoid misalignment/restriction include:

- Headache and migraines
- Eye pain and other visual disturbances
- Hormone balance
- Insomnia
- Psychological disturbances/personality changes,
depression
- Symptoms of impaired brain function including memory
loss, dyslexia, lack of ability to concentrate, brain fog
- Sinus related issues
- Dental issues including teeth grinding and dental
malocclusion
- Asthma
- Upper gastric conditions and transverse colon problems
- Problems of the trigeminal nerve (including Bell’s Palsy
and Trigeminal Neuralgia)
- Neck or lower back problems
- Scoliosis

WOW!! 🎼❤️🎼 “Research at Stanford University is finding acoustics to create NEW HEART tissue❣️

This image shows the ‘cymatics’, or geometric patterns created in heart cells when applying various sounds. In bio-acoustic sound medicine, is taught that sounds are imprinting every cell and science continues to prove this ancient axiom.

Cardiologist Sean Wu, MD, PhD and Utkan Demirci, PhD, an acoustic bio-engineer use acoustics to manipulate heart cells into intricate patterns. A simple change in frequency and amplitude puts the cells in motion, guides them to a new position and holds them in place. Acoustics can create a form that resembles natural cardiac tissue. With sound they can create new tissue to replace parts of damaged hearts. Acoustics can be used in reconstructing other organ tissue and blood vessels.

Sounds are use to create and harmonize, as well as clean and release. Both principles are used in science using high precision acoustical generators. The same principles can be applied safely by individuals using non-invasive, natural harmonic sounds, such as our voices and acoustic instruments.”

..."Paradoxical as it may seem, the purposeful life has no content, no point. It hurries on and on, and misses everything. Not hurrying, the purposeless life misses nothing, for it is only when there is no goal and no rush that the human senses are fully open to receive the world.”

Sitting home in front of screen and the neck, upper back can become tight and compromised. Have a look at the video to learn some great stretches that could help to ease off some stiffness in muscles.

Are you experiencing one-sided tightness between the shoulders and on top of the shoulders? While there are a lot of possibilities, one that typically gets overlooked is the middle scalene muscle. When tight or restricted, the middle scalene can entrap the dorsal scapular nerve, a nerve that supplies the rhomboid muscles between the shoulder blades as well as the levator scapula muscles on top of the shoulder. Here's a video of some stretches you can do that may help. The one that best gets the middle scalene is at the 4:40 mark. https://bdme.ch/3U97

Pain is a LATE sign that something is wrong, not an early one. By the time you feel pain, your problem has likely been developing for some time. This means two things. First, don't wait until you're in pain to seek help. Second, don't confuse getting relief with actual healing. To feel better, you need only drop back below that critical tipping point. The kind of healing that means something won't just come back later can take longer. Give yourself the time you need to heal.

When it comes to pain in any part of the body, you gotta look at the big picture. Your daily habits, postures, misaligned pelvic etc all play the role. It’s not about fixing the pain part of body but it’s about making small changes in life to have a Pain free life 🌟

Not everything that limits shoulder motion is necessarily in the shoulder. We have long fascial continuities throughout the body sometimes called myofascial meridians. One, the spiral line, ties the opposite hip and abs into the shoulder. Restrictions anywhere along this line can impact shoulder stability and mobility. Here's a good DIY stretch for addressing the upper half of the spiral line. https://tbme.ch/2gxP. The yoga pose parivrtta trikonasana, or revolved triangle pose, is great for the lower half of the spiral line. Here's a video of that. https://tbme.ch/2gxQ
