The Eden Clinic story…
Eden Clinic opened its doors 17 years ago in 2004, with the opening day supported by the Barnet mayor and good wishes sent by Theresa Villiers our local MP. A complementary health clinic was born, to serve the local Barnet community and surrounding North London areas by two passionate practitioners, Adam Leighton (Classical Acupuncturist) & Maurice Leane (Chiropodist), who
had already worked in Barnet for over 6 years in Wood Street. We realised there was a need for a broad based, professionally run practice at prices that were fair and affordable whatever the age group. Adam and Maurice had over the years managed and run Eden Clinic continually striving to maintain the high standards expected by new and returning patients. We had a cohort of practitioners who were as enthusiastic as the partners, in helping people back to health. Our reputation for helping people with muscular-skeletal injuries, foot problems and fertility and obstetric matters (such as breech presentation and labour induction) meant referrals as well as recommendations came from all quarters over the years. We gradually saw a significant rise in anxiety, insomnia and palpitations with children, teenagers and adults over the last decade; these symptoms could also be accompanied by migraines, headaches, depression, eating disorders and/or IBS. More recently we have been treating Long Covid with Classical acupuncture. The clinic closed and then when it re-opened in the Summer it was with only Maurice and Adam seeing patients. It is with a heavy heart that both partners decided it was time for change and they closed the clinic in mid-June 2021. So now a new chapter awaits. Adam Leighton will now be offering his Acupuncture & Cupping at Bodylogics in Crescent Road, where physiotherapy, osteopathy and sports massage will also be on offer (www.bodylogics.co.uk). Maurice will be seeing old and new Chiropody patients in their homes. Adam Leighton and Maurice Leane are proud to have opened a health clinic that serviced the community for 17 years. It was a humbling and enriching experience to see so many people walk through our doors and feel better when they left.
