Angela and Karen will be facilitating the Church Houses mindfulness weekend, and like many of the women who join them, they come with full, real lives behind them. Lives that include joy and love, but also disappointment, change, responsibility, and the quiet resilience that comes from keeping going when things haven’t been easy.
They are not gurus, influencers, or people offering quick fixes. There are no promises of instant transformation or perfect calm. Instead, what Angela and Karen bring is something far more grounded — years of working alongside people as they navigate both the ordinary pressures of life and the moments that feel overwhelming or life-altering.
Their understanding has been shaped not only through professional practice, but through personal experience. Like many of us, they have faced moments that asked the question: will you sink, or will you swim? And like most people, the answer involved a bit of both. It’s from this place — of lived experience, compassion, and learning — that they hold this retreat.
Throughout the weekend, you’ll be gently guided through mindfulness practices, breathwork, and sound therapy — approaches that Angela and Karen both value deeply and have seen support many people in finding steadiness, perspective, and a sense of inner quiet. These practices aren’t about escaping life, but about meeting it with more presence and care.
This weekend is an invitation to step away from the demands of everyday life and into the calm of the Yorkshire Dales — to rest, reflect, and reconnect with yourself. Just as importantly, it’s about taking something lasting home with you: practical, embodied experiences you can return to when life becomes busy or challenging again.
If you’re at a stage in life where you’re craving space, depth, and a gentler way of being with yourself, this weekend offers exactly that — held with warmth, experience, and understanding. More details www.angelasmiththerapy.com/booking
