A gentle reminder that you already have tools to help yourself.
When everything feels like too much and your thoughts won’t slow down, it can feel like there’s nothing you can do. But there are things that actually help and most of them you probably already know.
Challenging the thought rather than just believing it. Asking yourself is this actually true or is my mind catastrophising?
Pausing and noticing what’s happening in your body before you react. Just that tiny gap can change everything.
Grounding yourself in the present moment when anxiety pulls you into the future. Name five things you can see right now. Simple but genuinely effective.
Writing it down. Getting thoughts out of your head and onto paper reduces their power significantly.
And doing something small even when you don’t feel like it. Behavioural activation sounds clinical but it just means not waiting to feel better before you act.
These are CBT tools. They work. And on the hard days sometimes you just need a reminder they’re there. 💙
