We have lots of health and wellbeing exhibitors attending and this is a great opportunity for all residents of East Grinstead to find out what support is available to manage your own health and wellbeing locally. We look forward to seeing you there.

What a fantastic afternoon we had last Friday at Brendoncare Stildon! 💛
Our residents enjoyed a fabulous bottomless brunch, filled with laughter, music, and a wonderful community spirit.

On the drinks menu were everyone’s favourites — Mimosas and Cosmopolitans, both in alcoholic and non-alcoholic versions, plus a lovely selection of wine and mocktails to suit all tastes. 🍹✨

A huge thank you to Jasmine and Sharon, who joined our residents in preparing some delicious brunch bites — cheese and pineapple sticks, olives, sausage rolls, gherkins, and crisps. Everything looked (and tasted!) amazing! 🧀💛

With great music in the background and plenty of smiles all around, it was an afternoon to remember. 💃🎶

What a wonderful day we had yesterday at Brendoncare Stildon! 💛
We were delighted to welcome the incredible Song Sisters, a talented female choir who filled our home with music, laughter, and emotion. Their heartfelt performance of “My Heart Will Go On” truly touched everyone — residents, staff, and visitors alike! 💕

Moments like these remind us how special it is to come together through music and community. A huge thank you to the Song Sisters for sharing their beautiful voices, and to everyone who joined us for such a joyful afternoon!

It was on Monday, so we took the opportunity to write a letter from Brendoncare Stildon to our new pen friends at Beccles Care Home in Suffolk.

We are really excited to be making contact with another care home. We started by telling them all about who we are, the history of the lovely town in which we live and to introduce them to some of the residents here, and their personal likes.

We are looking forward to receiving a reply and we will keep you posted when we do!

Today we were delighted to welcome Linley from Kiddley Divey for a fun-filled music and movement session! 🎤💃

The theme was oldies songs, and we had a blast singing along to classics – including the catchy and playful “Kiddley Divey Do, Doses and Dotes!” 🎵😄

With pom poms, drums, balls, and tambourines in hand, our residents got moving, grooving, and smiling from start to finish! 🥁🪇🎾✨

A huge thank you to Linley for another brilliant session – it’s always a joy to see our residents so engaged and energised 💛🎶

This morning, we had a great time playing Australian Snap – fast hands, big smiles, and plenty of friendly fun as we tested our reflexes and tried to be the first to shout “Snap!” 😄👏

🃏🎲 Then this afternoon, it was time for Play Your Cards Right – full of laughs, gasps, and the all-important question… “Higher or lower?”
Our residents really got into the spirit, and it was fantastic to see such enthusiasm and light-hearted competition!

What a small world it is!

About a year ago, Sharon, our lovely wellbeing coordinator, was chatting with residents in the lounge when she told a silly joke about lawyers.

Michael, one of the residents, said to her: “You should never tell a lawyer joke to a lawyer!"

Much to her surprise and delight, Michael told her he had been a lawyer in London.

As Sharon had been the PA to the managing partner of a law firm called Field Fisher and Waterhouse in the 80s/90s, she asked Michael if he had heard of them.

Well, would you believe it. Michael was a partner at that law firm until his retirement!

Now, they often chat about their days there, especially about Sharon's boss with whom she stayed close after she left.

"It's nice for Michael and I to reminisce about it from time to time," Sharon says.

This morning, one of our residents enjoyed a peaceful puzzle session – a lovely way to start the day with a bit of quiet focus and a nice cuppa ☕🧠

Afterwards, we watched the England Lionesses on their victory bus tour 🦁🏆🇬🇧 – a great moment to catch on screen and reflect on their success.

🎯 In the afternoon, we turned our activity hub into a boules green, and the competition was on! Lots of laughs and some very skilled throws made for a brilliant session 😄🥇

What a fabulous few days we’ve had here at Stildon!

👩‍🍳 Friday morning kicked off with some delicious baking in preparation for our Summer Fayre – the sweet smells from the kitchen had everyone excited!
🧀🍷 In the afternoon, we enjoyed a relaxing Cheese & Wine afternoon, full of lovely conversation and plenty of nibbles.

🎉 Saturday was the big day – our Summer Fayre!
🍹 We sipped on Pimm’s, browsed the stalls, and were treated to live music from the Ukaholics Ukulele Band and the fabulous Song Sisters. There was dancing, laughter, and lots of community spirit!

💃🇪🇸 And today, we’ve been feeling the Spanish vibes!
We took a virtual tour of Barcelona, and had a wonderful time with Josefa, our talented Spanish dancer. She led us through a fun-filled session using pom poms, fans, maracas, and tambourines – a true fiesta!

Thank you to everyone who helped make the last few days so memorable! 🌟

Brendoncare Stildon had a fantastic Summer Fair on Saturday! ☀️

⭐ Thanks to performances from local businesses and the Ukeholics, we raised funds to support our charity.

We’re getting everything ready for Saturday the 26th of July, we have local stallholders, amazing food and our usual bottle tombola. If you would like to donate a bottle for the tombola or a raffle prize we would be very grateful.

There’s a soft toy tombola and you can have a go on our ‘human fruit machine’
