Canine treatment! 🐶

It’s usually horses that I treat rather than dogs, but it was lovely to meet young pup Wilbur!

We used some light treatments such as Myofascial release to help reduce tightness over his thoracolumbar region. This was to help him carry himself straighter and use both hind legs equally.

Most of you will know that dressage is my sport and I regularly treat the horses I ride with a range of complementary therapies.

After a training session I am using the following tools pictured below:

•Activo Med Impulse massage rug on a “recovery” mode after my training session. This uses PEMF (pulsed electromagnetic field therapy) to help stimulate cells, resolve cellular disfunction, promote recovery and many more.

• Veredus magnetic hock boots to increase blood flow and generally benefit the surrounding tissues

• Le Mieux Arctic boots to cool down the tendons and ligaments of the lower leg, helping to reduce any heat or potential minor inflammation

This works really well in conjunction with the regular equine bodywork treatments which Darwin receives.

Pleased to say I am accredited with the AHPR (Animal Health Professions’ Register)

Here’s a bit about the standards we uphold to be on the register:

“All AHPR registrants have achieved an industry recognised appropriate standard of training through externally accredited courses, comply with Continuing Professional Development and hold full, valid professional indemnity insurance as required by the wider industry. “

Wow! What a year it has been! 🎉🎉🎉

Thank you to all of my clients for supporting my new small business, it really does mean a lot to me 😊

After one of my busiest weeks so far, it’s time to feed the reindeers up for pulling the sleigh 🤣🦄

With a busy end to 2023 I always seem to forget to take pictures of the horses that I treat!

Here below is Millie, an absolutely stunning mare! As well as equine physiotherapy, I also coach dressage and these work really well together. After noticing Millie wasn’t her normal self and was finding the right canter lead hard, I found that her neck was sore.

This was probably due to some antics in the field her owner was telling me about! I’m now hoping after her treatment she can take a right bend better to get the right canter lead 😊🦄

Some of you may know that I compete myself. Dressage is my passion and physio works very well alongside this, helping horses to perform at their best.

Here is Kay Maxted‘s Dondee H at Felbridge yesterday winning the PSG. I was very lucky to be able to ride this stunning horse, with him staying relaxed after his first time back out in a while.

My services are tailored to your horse, wether that’s your competition horse or your happy hacker 😊 They all deserve to feel their best 💪

Pictured below is a pony called Taos and his owner Lindsey Bell. Taos is 27 years old now and went for his first stay away show at the National Veteran Championships this month 🦄

Although this boy wouldn’t call himself a dressage diva he was crowned dressage champion! I treated Taos before he left to go to the show, helping to give him more flexibility and suppleness in his neck.

I love treating veteran horses, they are like a fine wine and just get better with age 😍

A couple of weeks ago I was lucky enough to treat a lovely cob called Oscar.
His owner Millie is bringing him back into work after some time off due to injury. After his treatment I received a message saying that Oscar had more energy on his hack out to the woods! I love to hear how happy the horses are after their treatment 😁

King is a horse who I have been lucky enough to treat several times over the last couple of months. To begin with I could see he held a lot of tension in his upper neck, but he was unsure about letting me touch the area. This is a video is from this week, using cranial and Myofascial techniques to finally release all that pent up tension.
Lots of yawns and a very chilled out boy 🦄

Last week I was lucky enough to head to Hildenborough and treat the lovely Rear Cross 🦄
Here’s what his owner Susan Storey had to say:

“Alice came out to check my horse over to keep him comfortable - he loved the treatment (mostly) and Alice explained everything she did (whole body) and anything she found (not too much) and gave us homework to keep him well. I’ll be using Alice again - my horse requested her 🐎”

Rear Cross started off a bit unsure about the treatment, but it didn’t take him long to enjoy it 😁
