This isn’t a political post. It’s a fact. Women are worried about their safety and the safety of the daughters. It’s a conversation that comes up everyday day at work.

So… what can you legally carry to protect yourself.

🛡️ Stay Safe, Stay Legal: Farb Gel

Since pepper spray and CS gas are **illegal** (classified as fi****ms)
**Farb Gel**.
Here’s the lowdown on how it works and why it’s a popular choice:
# # # 🔴 What is it?
Farb Gel is a "Criminal Identifier Spray." It doesn't contain any noxious chemicals, acids, or irritants. Instead, it blasts a thick, bright red, sticky dye.
# # # ⚖️ Is it actually legal?
**Yes.** Because it contains no harmful substances and isn't designed to cause physical injury, it is 100% legal to own and carry in the UK.
> *Note: It should still only ever be used in a genuine emergency where you fear for your safety.
>
# # # 🛠️ How does it help?
* **Identification:** The dye is incredibly hard to wash off. It stays on the skin and clothes for up to **7 days**, making it much easier for the police to identify an attacker.

* **The "Flinch" Factor:** While it doesn't "incapacitate" like pepper spray, getting a face full of thick red gel causes an immediate distraction and disorientation, giving you those vital seconds to run away.

* **Range:** Most canisters have a range of about **3 to 4 metres**, so you don't have to be within arm's reach of a threat.
# # # 💡 Top Safety Tips:
1. **Keep it accessible:** It’s no use at the bottom of a backpack. Most come with a belt clip or lanyard.
2. **Aim for the face:** The goal is to obscure their vision and mark them clearly.
3. **Spray and RUN:** The gel is a deterrent, not a weapon. Your goal is always to create a gap and get to a safe, well-lit area.
4. **Check the date:** Like any aerosol, they have expiry dates. Check yours every few months!
**Stay safe out there!**

No, you’re not imagining it.

If your sleep has slowly worsened…
If anxiety has shown up out of nowhere…
If your energy just isn’t what it used to be…

This could be early perimenopause — and most women miss the signs.

So many women in their late 30s and early 40s are told,
“You’re too young for that.”

But the evidence says otherwise.

A 2025 study of over 4,400 women found:
More than half of women aged 30–35 are already experiencing moderate to severe perimenopausal symptoms.
That rises to 64% in women aged 36–40.

The problem?
Symptoms often start years before they’re recognised.

Why it gets missed:
Progesterone is the first hormone to decline — often from your mid to late 30s.
Oestrogen doesn’t just drop, it fluctuates.

So instead of hot flushes, you may notice:
– Poor sleep
– Anxiety or low mood
– Brain fog
– Heavier periods
– Low energy

And because life is already full — careers, children, stress — it’s easy to blame everything else.

But your body is changing.

Hi everyone,

Last week a client was in and was telling us her experience with a Henna tattoo whilst in Egypt!

Here is our clients story:

I wanted to share a personal experience that I hope may help others think carefully before getting a henna tattoo abroad.

Back in 2019, I travelled to Egypt for a wedding. Before the wedding, the bride held a traditional henna party. I had experienced henna many times before without any issues — my aunt lived in the Middle East and would often bring home traditional brown henna for family celebrations. Because of this, I felt confident having it done again.

However, I was aware of the risks associated with “black henna,” which can contain harmful chemicals, so I specifically asked the artist whether the henna being used was natural brown henna. I was reassured that it was completely safe.
I had designs applied to my hand, spine, and ankle.

Within just a couple of hours, my ankle began tingling and burning intensely. I became concerned and tried washing the henna off immediately. I even asked the artist whether the product had changed midway through, as the reaction felt so severe. She insisted it was all the same product.

The next morning, the pain had worsened dramatically. My ankle felt as though it was on fire. It was swollen, inflamed, and blistering. I visited a local pharmacy, where I was told they had seen reactions like this before, particularly in fair-skinned individuals. They explained that some henna products contain chemicals designed to darken the colour and make the stain last longer — chemicals that can effectively burn the skin.

Despite injections and ointments, the reaction continued to worsen over the following 72 hours. The swelling became severe, my skin was burning away, and I began feeling feverish and unwell. I was advised not to fly, but I was too frightened to remain abroad and returned home to the UK.

Once back in England, I ended up in hospital with an infection. I was seen by multiple hospitals before finally being referred to the burns Unit at Queen Victoria Hospital. The specialists there told me they had rarely seen a reaction so severe from henna. Different layers of my skin had blistered and burned away, exposing raw tissue underneath.

At one stage, I was told there was a strong possibility I could be permanently scarred.
Thankfully, after intensive treatment and ongoing care, the skin eventually healed. I was incredibly lucky, and today I do not have major permanent scarring, although the outlines can still sometimes be seen when I tan.

What I did gain permanently, however, was an allergy to PPD (paraphenylenediamine) — a chemical commonly found in black henna dyes and some hair and beauty products. Months later, I reacted again after having my eyebrows tinted, which led to further testing confirming the allergy.

I’m sharing this because many people still believe henna is always “natural” and harmless. Unfortunately, this is not always the case, especially abroad where regulations may differ and products can be mixed with dangerous additives.

Please be cautious:
• Always ask what ingredients are being used
• Avoid black henna entirely
• Be aware that reactions can happen even if you’ve had henna safely before
• If burning or irritation starts immediately, remove the product and seek medical advice quickly

I feel very fortunate that my situation eventually healed, and I’m incredibly grateful to the team at Queen Victoria Hospital for the care they gave me.
If sharing this story helps even one person avoid going through the same experience, then it’s worth talking about.

At Enhance, we believe true luxury lies in treatments that not only feel exquisite but deliver clinically recognised results.

Lymphatic drainage massage is a refined, results-driven therapy designed to support one of the body’s most essential systems — your lymphatic system. Responsible for removing waste, toxins, and excess fluid, this system plays a vital role in both your health and your appearance.

Using precise, light-pressure techniques, this treatment gently stimulates lymph flow, encouraging natural detoxification while restoring a sense of lightness and balance throughout the body.

✨ The Elevated Benefits

• Visible Reduction in Fluid Retention
Clinical studies show lymphatic drainage can significantly reduce oedema (swelling), particularly in areas prone to water retention.

• Enhanced Detoxification
By supporting lymph flow, the body is better able to eliminate metabolic waste — contributing to improved overall wellbeing.

• Improved Skin Tone & Radiance
Increased circulation and reduced congestion can result in smoother, brighter, more refined skin.

• Immune System Support
Research suggests that a well-functioning lymphatic system plays a key role in immune defence.

• Body Contouring Effect
Clients often experience a more sculpted, refined silhouette due to reduced fluid buildup and improved circulation.

• Deep Relaxation
Beyond its physical benefits, the slow, rhythmic movements calm the nervous system, creating a profoundly restorative experience.

Many of our clients describe an immediate sensation of lightness, alongside visible improvements in tone and definition after just one session.

This is more than a massage — it is a curated wellness ritual designed to restore balance, enhance beauty, and elevate how you feel within your body.

We invite you to book your lymphatic drainage treatment and discover the difference for yourself.
