Often clients are nervous before their first laser session, but soon realise there’s no reason to be. The treatment is not unbearably painful (it helps that we only use grade 4 medical lasers, NOT IPL which is far less superior ) There’s also no need to feel self conscious. We have such a friendly and reassuring team here at Enhance. I can safely and confidently say, our clients are treated like family from start to finish. What changed this clients underarm skin from that to this… having no hair follicle traumatising the skin!
This client was a waxer for years but her thick hair caused ingrown hairs. Finally she took the plunge and came to us for laser hair removal. This is her session 8.

Laser hair removal makes the skin look and feel smoother mainly because it reduces hair growth at the root and minimises irritation caused by other hair-removal methods.

Here’s how it works in simple terms:

1. Targets the hair follicle
The laser emits light that’s absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair. This light converts to heat and damages the hair follicle, slowing or stopping future hair growth. With fewer active follicles, the skin surface feels smoother.

2. Eliminates stubble
Unlike shaving, which cuts hair at the surface, laser treatment reduces hair beneath the skin. This prevents the rough “stubble” feeling that often appears a day or two after shaving.

3. Reduces ingrown hairs
Because the hair grows back finer or not at all, there’s less chance of hairs curling back into the skin. Fewer ingrowns mean less bumpiness and texture.
