A few simple core abdominal layering exercises (sped up for this video).

Progressing from toe taps to leg extensions increases the lever length, which places greater demand on the abdominals.

Adding the arms further challenges the core by increasing the overall load and stability requirements.

‼️THE PLANK‼️

Don’t be scared of the plank…

Even if you’ve had problems with your back… this is a way of getting in to a plank, which helps protect the lower back

🔹Start on all 4s
🔹Gently lower on to your elbows and knees and find a comfortable position, elbows under shoulders
🔹Activate your core abdominals and create a small tail bone tuck (as if tucking your tail between your legs). This is your 3/4 plank
🔹If you want to progress to a full plank, tuck your toes underneath, then straighten one knee at a time
🔹Other points to note… keep the lift through the chest and keep length through the back of the neck

👂🏻Listen to your body, it’s quality over quantity!
