Psoriasis?
Honestly, when someone messages me about it, Iâm so grateful and could spend all day talking about what Iâve learned.
So many people avoid hairdressers and self care because theyâre embarrassed. Flakes and uneven skin. It chips away at your confidence more than people realise.
My scalp curiosity actually started with my husbandâs psoriasis. I have this personality trait that if I love you, Iâll try to heal you. Definitely got that from my mum. Our whole childhood she was forever putting creams, ointments, natural remedies on us. I thought it was nonsense back then⌠now I really respect it and grateful for her curiosity as it sparked something in me đĽ°
Weâve had drawers full of products over the years. So much trial and error. So much âtry thisâ and âokay maybe not that.â
Is it perfect? No. He still gets the odd flare up. But itâs controlled. His skin is calmer, brighter, healthier. Weâve come a long way.
One of our head spa therapists actually came to us as a psoriasis client. After her treatments she said she couldnât fully explain how it made her feel, she just knew she wanted to work here and help other people feel that way.
Sheâs training in regular head spas just now and doing brilliantly. Sheâs not taking on the more complex scalp appointments yet, but youâll see her stepping into them as her experience grows.
Weâre not here to cure or replace medical care. Psoriasis can be lifelong. These scalp pics look great, but the truth is it grows back, but the magic is when the skin microbiombe is rebalanced and we get rid of extra skin the relief you have from the condition for a few weeks lowers your bodies stress response.. and in time can lessen the flare ups.
Weâre here to support you. To help you manage it gently and consistently. To properly cleanse the scalp, reduce buildup, and help you fall back in love with your hair a little bit.
With the right care and attention, things can improve.
And if any of our lovely clients are feeling brave enough to share how their scalp appointments have helped them, please do. It might just give someone else the confidence to take that first step đ¤
