Embracing the end of the Summer…
Not sure about you but I’m definitely making the most of the last of this sunshine. 🌞
Late Summer in Chinese Medicine is seen as a buffer between the warmer seasons of Spring and Summer, and the coolness of Autumn and Winter. It allows us to reset and start to prepare ourselves for the months ahead.
At the moment Stomach and Spleen energy (or digestion) is at its peak so nourishing this through food choices or lifestyle practices can really to help boost your body’s immunity, vitality and warmth in the coming months…
Ways to support Stomach and Spleen energy include
🌻Opting to include foods such as carrots, chickpeas, squash, green beans, ginger, potatoes, corn and sweet potatoes 🍠 (or any other ‘earthy foods’)
🌻Abdominal breathing, yoga or any other form of mediative practice.
🌻limiting excessive amounts of cold foods eg raw fruit and veg, sugar and dairy.
🌻Get outside and make the most of the last of the sunshine 😎. This is always a great way to get Qi and Blood moving!
