SIMPLE STEPS FOR A SELF BREAST EXAM 🩷
If you haven’t checked your breasts this month yet—please do.
As promised, here are some simple steps. It only takes a few minutes, and it could save your life.
Step 1: Get in position
Stand or sit in front of a mirror with your arms by your sides.
Step 2: Look
Check for any changes in size, shape, or skin—such as redness, dimpling, or rash.
Step 3: Change position
Place your hands on your hips and press gently. Look again for changes.
Then raise your arms and check once more.
Step 4: Feel (lying down or in the shower)
Use the pads of your fingers (not the tips) and apply gentle but firm pressure.
Step 5: Follow a pattern
Start from the outer edge and move toward the centre, covering the entire breast.
Use small circular or up-and-down motions.
Step 6: Check surrounding areas
Don’t forget your underarms and the area up to your collarbone.
Notice anything unusual?
Stay calm—majority of changes are not cancer. But it’s important to get anything unusual checked by a doctor as soon as possible.
Please share this with someone you love. It might make all the difference.
