Fear not, our clinic in Molesey is a till open for appointments.
As physiotherapy is an essential service to ensure that you stay fit, safe and pain free, we are able to keep our doors open.
We will however be implementing pre-appointment Zoom calls at no charge to help determine the best course of action for your problem.
Follow link in bio to book an appointment and then we will contact you to arrange a Zoom call.

These words resonate very strongly with me and my profession. We are often seen as “fixers” of dysfunction and that we “treat” pain and injury. Although there are times when I will use manual therapy, massage techniques and joint mobilisations, I do not see myself as a “fixer”.

I am a facilitator

My role is to facilitate my athletes and clients achieving their goals. That may be pain management or athletic performance, but the role is still the same. I cannot make the journey for them. I may carry them, walk beside them or walk behind them, but ultimately they must cross the line by themselves.
It is their achievement
Their investment in their own health
Their journey

We want a strong pyramid

A wide foundation of movement skills and competencies gives us the best chance of continual development towards our ultimate physical goals, whether that is injury rehab, pain management or sports performance.

Now this does not mean that you avoid training specificity and go for general, broad training aims and choices. It means that having variability and variety of exercises, load placement, tempo, conditioning styles, etc will offer you more areas to adapt, progress and overcome

Have a razor sharp A game if that’s what is needed but don’t neglect your B-Z as that is where you either likely to get injured or stop your progress

There are no shortcuts in rehab, long term pain/injury management or sports performance.

Two words that govern how I work with athletes and clients.

Tension - Being able to develop, control, produce and absorb tension is vital for the health of all tissues in the body and also for performance on the sporting field.
A tissues ability to produce tension against internal or external forces will be one of the main determining factors in preventing injuries. This is becomes even more important towards the extremes of your range of motion.
If you cannot produce tension in a particular position, you cannot control it.

Intention - doing a movement or exercise for the sake of it will not help you to develop the physical qualities that you want. All training and exercise selection should be based around your needs and the needs of your sport.
If you have heard that power cleans are good for developing power, you are right but only if you have the ability to perform the movement adequately to express or improve your power production.
If power = amount of work / time, then there are also other options that can develop your expression of “power”.
Don’t do something because it’s cool, do it because it will help you achieve your goal.
