We would like to take the opportunity to thank all of our customers, old and new, for their continued support throughout 2025 and, most importantly, their patience and understanding whilst we get used to the new computer system which we are still getting used to. We are still experiencing delays with the dispensing of prescriptions so please bear with us.
The changes to our opening hours over the festive period are as follows:

Christmas Eve. 8am - 6pm
Christmas Day. Closed
Boxing Day. Closed
SATURDAY 27th. CLOSED
New Years Eve. 8am - 6pm

📣 Important Notice for Our Customers

As you may be aware, we are currently upgrading our computer system to improve our service in the long term.
Unfortunately, this upgrade has caused some temporary issues:

• Not all patient data transferred correctly, and we are manually updating records.

• The new system is more difficult to navigate, which is slowing down our workflow.

• For those patients for whom we place monthly medication requests on their behalf, if you have personally requested any medication outside of your usual monthly delivery, please let us know so we can ensure it is prepared without delay.

Recently published UKHSA surveillance data indicates that influenza is circulating in the community earlier than usual this season with a drifted strain of Influenza A(H3N2) predominating.
It’s important that all eligible patients and healthcare workers get vaccinated as soon as possible.

We’re delighted to share that Bridgegate Chemist has acquired the dispensing contract from Superdrug.

From Monday 3rd November, all Superdrug pharmacy patients will automatically be transferred to Bridgegate Chemist — no action needed! 🙌

Our friendly team is ready to welcome you and make sure your prescriptions continue smoothly. 💊💙

If you have any questions prior to the 3rd November, please discuss directly with the Superdrug staff who will help to alleviate any of your concerns.

Superdrug have requested that any outstanding prescriptions be collected from their pharmacy by their close of business on Saturday 1st November.

It’s that time of year again with flu season fast approaching and our team at Bridgegate are ready! Here’s everything you need to know about this year’s flu and covid vaccination campaign including who’s eligible and how to get booked in.

From 1st October the following groups are eligible for the FREE NHS flu vaccination:

🩼 All adults aged 65 and over
🩼 Adults aged 18-64 in clinical “at-risk” groups
🩼 Care home residents
🩼 Carers and main care providers
🩼 Close contacts of people who are immunocompromised
🩼 Frontline health and social care workers

COVID vaccination eligibility has CHANGED and is now limited to:

🦠 Adults aged 75 and over
🦠 Individuals in specific high-risk clinical categories
🦠 Residents in older adult care homes

Appointments are preferable (not essential) and can be made at https://mylocalchemist.as.me/bridgegate or via the nhs.uk website

After an unexpected delay in the delivery of our Covid booster vaccines, we are pleased to announce that we will be providing a vaccination service from Tuesday 8th April 2025.
There is no need to book an appointment but there may be a short wait during our busy times.

COVID-19 is more serious in older people and in people with certain underlying health conditions. For these reasons, people aged 75 years and over, those in care homes, and those aged 6 months and over with a weakened immune system are being offered a spring dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

We continue to offer a “walk in” service for both flu and COVID-19 vaccines to those who are eligible for the vaccination.
The NHS anticipate that most flu and COVID-19 vaccinations should be completed by Friday 20th December (this will be dependant on availability of the vaccines so get vaccinated NOW to avoid disappointment).

It's important to get your winter flu and COVID-19 vaccinations if you're eligible. Getting vaccinated every year will top up your protection and reduce your risk of getting severe symptoms.

You can get both the NHS flu and COVID-19 vaccines if you:

💉are aged 65 or over (including those who will be 65 by 31 March 2025)
💉have certain health conditions
💉are pregnant
💉are a frontline health or social care worker
💉live in a care home for older adults

Other care home residents, carers and people who live with someone who has a weakened immune system can also get the flu vaccine.

Although the majority of our pre booked appointments have now been taken, we are happy to accept “walk-ins” from 10am until 5pm Monday to Friday and 9am until 12pm on Saturday.

And remember, the NHS service offered by community pharmacy is exactly the same as that offered by your own GP so you are free to choose where you have your vaccination.
